Overall

I had worked for Berks and quit due to the fact of not receiveing my proper pay that I was due not just once but twice and when I asked bout it they stated thaqt they was "waiting" for the supervisors of the buildings at which I worked at turned in time info...then I was told it was my job to record my time worked yet even if I done so I would have not received my proper pay either way the fact is I was not the only person who has issues with payes either plus one day to the next you was never sure if u was to be a a cetain building and many times had I showed up for work and sent home due to many being at one job to much help. also I had been called an asked why I wasn't at work when infact I was there and called them on my break to see what they wanted. never again would I ever work for this company nothing good to say about it either!

**JOB SEEKERS BEWARE** - VERY SHABBY ORGANIZATION.

Was not properly informed I was NOT going to be PAID for a whole week's worth of FULL TIME employment!

When I arrived at the interview on time, Berks recruiters left me in the lobby for a half an hour until I had to ask the receptionist to see them. I went in and both recruits were eating. One wore flip-flops. This is not the way to conduct professional business. I have worked with several temp agencies over many years and I have never encountered such unprofessional behavior. Once I was on the "Job" a co-worker (also a temp from Berks) was horrified to find out that the "job" we were on was not paying for the week. It was considered a "Self Learning period" before passing a state exam and only THEN would we start being paid for the job training. VERY DISHONEST! This job is still on their website - ANYONE APPLYING FOR THIS MUST KNOW THAT THEY ARE NOT PAYING FOR YOU TO BE THERE 7 HOURS A DAY FIVE DAYS A WEEK - AND THAT YOU ARE REQUIRED TO TAKE WORK HOME WITH YOU (SO MORE UNPAID HOURS) AND PASS A STATE EXAM THAT TAKES MOST PEOPLE A MONTH AND A HALF TO PREPARE FOR, YOU MUST MASTER IN THREE DAYS!!!! ONLY AT THAT POINT WILL YOU BE PAID FOR JOB TRAINING. ALMOST EVERYONE AT THE JOB (150 recruits) EXCEPT FOR ME, DID NOT PASS THE SIMULATED EXAM AND WE STUDIED DAY AND NIGHT WITHOUT PAY. THIS IS AS CLOSE TO BEING A SCAM AS I HAVE EVER SEEN. Berks and Beyond should be held responsible, but when I appealed to my recruiter she simply said, "you were informed of the job". NEVER would I have agreed to such deplorable conditions for employment. And I missed out on a week of paid work for another reputable company. GO ELSEWHERE!!

I want to respond to this candidate and clarify a couple of issues. First, I think it's a wonderful program that the Client is offering. They provide special training at their location and give you all the tools to pass your Health & Accident licensing in PA and they pay for your exam. This program has been incredibly successful and most candidates going through the training have passed their exam the first week - not 5 weeks later. As far as coming in during lunch - we interview during lunch everyday to accomodate our candidates. I'm sorry if you were offended - we are entitled to have lunch. The program is explained in detail to every candidate (in fact documents are signed so there isn't any discrepancy with the facts). I'm sorry your experience was negative. We work very hard in this office and have been very succesful for years. You seem to be the only person who didn't understand the program. Everyone else in your class passed their exam and are happily working for the Client.
