Lee Owen Stone is an excellent preschool. Our eldest daughter has enjoyed two fantastic years; now exceptionally prepared for Kindergarten in the fall. Our second daughter cannot wait to start this fall and our youngest will get to begin Fall 2018. As an experienced teacher myself, I could not be more grateful for Teacher Maggie. Her teaching style, knowledge and experience with preschoolers has helped to teach me to be a better parent. Our family is so lucky to be involved with this wonderful school and are excited for the coming years.

Our family did not have a good experience with Lee Owen stone preschool. If your child has any issues like speech delay or autism spectrum disorder or even just has trouble sitting still, your child will immediately be red flagged and will be seen as a nuisance We found this preschool to be for very wealthy perfect families. There is endless emails and meetings and side work because it is a co-op, so be prepared for that if you join. We did not have a good experience with teacher Maggie and we did not think she was great.

My oldest daughter attended Lee Owen Stone Cooperative Preschool the last two years and my youngest is there this year and next. Our experience has been wonderful. The space is ample with both inside and outside gross motor and dramatic play areas, sensory table, manipulatives, science and art tables, building zones, a library and so much more. Teacher Maggie is the most intelligent, creative and caring of teachers I've met and she connects with children and their parents in profound ways. Both of my daughters have flourished at Lee Owen Stone as has our family. We have met so many families and life long friends as part of the Lee Owen Stone Community. The cooperate preschool model isn't for everyone but it has been great for us.

Lee Own Stone has exceeded my expectations in every way this year. My son is thriving in all areas of his development and I know much is to do with the school and his teacher, Maggie. I believe Teacher Maggie Builds confidence and social skills through songs and stories. Art projects are always thoughtfully organized and on theme with the curriculum. Science projects, like plant life or tadpoles, are constantly being conducted and observed. Because of Teacher Maggie's education, experience, love, dedication and hard work, students feel included and important. I think she has unique skills that also help teach sympathy and empathy to these 3-5 year-olds. Lee Owen Stone is a special cooperative with an amazing teacher. I feel very fortunate my son will be beyond ready for kindergarten.

I have already given a more thorough review via google. There are some pretty big issues with this school. We had to pull our son because Maggie didn't do a headcount and forgot him at school, alone. While the children were lining up to go to the playground my son had to go potty. While he was in the potty everyone left. When my son came out of the bathroom he called around for an adult or SOMEONE and nobody was there. He panicked, was hysterical, and very frightened. He was about to attempt to walk to the playground by himself which is across two busy streets. Thankfully there was a pastor who was in the building and heard him crying and running around for help and stopped him before he left the building. I am SO thankful that he was intercepted. We have had to reassure him that what happened there at school will not happen when he starts Kindergarten this fall. I cannot recommend this school to anyone for too many reasons.

Teacher Maggie is absolutely magical with kids. This school is truly special - the sense of community is second to none. The class space is spacious and sunny, being on the ground floor with lots of windows. On rainy days, the kids play in the downstairs gym and sunny days walk to Grant Park's playground. There are 3 aids plus the teacher at session so lots of 1x1 attention. I'm sorry to hear about the other family's experience a long time ago. Not sure about Maggie "misdiagnosing" children. She herself does not diagnose but if she sees a problem, she'll advise the parent to see a professional. She treats all children and parents with respect. Tour the school and see for yourself! Glad I found this gem!
