After graduating from the University of Oregon Medical School in 1932, Robert Greene began his career as a general practitioner. He opened his own practice in the growing Hollywood District of Northeast Portland. Five years later in 1937, he moved to 4212 N.E. Broadway to what was to become the Broadway Medical Clinic.
