Kabobji Mediterranean Grill

I should have not gone in considering the owner/operator was just walking in a foot ahead of me to open at 12:00 on a Monday! She was very courteous and explained she could make my meal with in 15 minutes...I ordered the Hummus w/ Beef Shawama and a small Fattoush salad. ( I lived in Dearborn for two years and knew much about Middle Eastern Food.) She asked if I would like my food on a dish or plastic to go container, as I would have a lot left and then she would not have to put it in a container to go? She also told me that it was self service and they only drop off the food at the table, you have to get your own silverwear, drinks and anything else you would like. The Fattouch salad was fresh but very small in its little plastic container for $5.00. Fifteen minutes later my Hummus w/Beef Shawarma came ($14.99) in its plastic wonder. There was about 4 oz of beef with 30 oz of Hummus. The beef strips were from a day ago and the hummus was also. Grand Total $23.05! Too bad...

Food and Service were both great! I had the chicken kabob and found the chicken to be with the best kafta in metro Detroit. Prices are on par with every other place, sandwiches here are bigger so they cost slightly more. This is definitely my new spot.

I had the chicken schwarma today and it was fantastic! Flavorful, moist and tender and quite filling. The service was outstanding. Those ladies are so nice!!

I have had alot of shawarma and I was disaponted by how dry the chicken and beef was. When they asked us if they wanted a side salad we we're thinking it would be a nice sized side salad, but we were very wrong. The salad was only a few bits at the most. the rice had good flavor but over all I was not excited about the food. I think for the 36 dollars we spent we we're expecting a feast and instead got a school lunch. So sad that it was not as good as I wanted it to be. And I agree with the last review the pricing was very high for any city... I do want to say that it is very sad that I had to give them such a bad review because the ladies there we're so nice. I wish the food was great so I could have give them a raving review!!! Unfortunately; that was not the case. :(

Confusing menu makes it hard to order, and there is pressure to be fast as it is counter service. Sauces aren't described on menu, making it difficult to choose. A bit expensive for the area, with slow service at lunch.



In the interest of constructive criticism... I would probably go back if a handful of reasonably priced lunch combos were added and perhaps numbered (like a chinese restaurant) for easy ordering, then prepared quickly.
