I heard about this restaurant on the Marti Griffin show. I immediately wanted to support a family owned business that was doing so well. I bought my in-laws a gift certificate to dine there. So, when my dad said that he needed to treat my mom to a nice romantic birthday dinner, I immediately recommended this restaurant. I made the reservations and called to confirm. I purchased a bottle of champagne and their infamous volcano dessert. I was so happy, and my dad was delighted. I received a call from the owner (5 hours before the reservation), and was told that they would be closing early due to some cancellations. He reported that it would not be worth sticking around..."sorry." I know that it would "suck" to "stick around," but it seems that a business should honor their hours. There is no hurricane, flood, family emergency and/or anything that warrants an early closing. They were aware that this was a special occasion, but still decided to shut down. I am so disappointed-never again.

I have been to this restaurant several times now and it just keeps getting better and better!! Chef Joe keeps dazzling us with creative seafood features, and Italian favorites that are the Best anywhere!!!
Gotta love the homemade pasta, and the salad tasting that changes daily!! Always exciting!!
Oh yea, don't miss one of his famous meatballs, or his homemade tiramisu!!!
Simply the best restaurant period!!!

This is one of the best places not just in Pgh but in any major city you would go to!!!

I have eatin all over the country and this place ranks right up there with the best of them!! A beatuiful house in Highland Park, that has been converted to a restaurant. The food is outstanding, the portions large and service is always spot on!!!

Not only is it great Italian food but the fresh fish and seaks some of the best anywhere!!! (and I eat in Chi all the time)

I eat here every time I come to Pgh. Bring a date, business, or family, either way it's a cant miss restaurant!!!
