Harper's Restaurant

Strike three.

First and foremost, I have been enjoying Harpers Restaurants for years at their SouthPark and Greensboro, NC location. However, the branch at Carolina Place Mall leaves A LOT to be desired. Being that I recently started a new job in the area, I was ecstatic to find a Harpers nearby.



The first visit to the Pineville location I had found a hair on my plate and my friend's pasta was barely warm enough to eat. Being that I've had such great experiences with Harpers in the past, I had no problem chalking it up to a fluke and heading back again.



The second time, it took 45 minutes to get our food (making us both late going back to work on our lunch break). When we received the food, our flat bread pizzas were both burned - scorched actually. The manager came by to apologize and was very gracious and offered us some coupons - which was completely unexpected and EXTREMELY appreciated, until we realized after leaving that they had already expired.



Finally last week, again attempting to go during a lunch break, I order the Crispy Chicken Salad. The chicken was still BRIGHT PINK on the inside. After not being able to find my server, another offered to replace it. And STILL, the 2nd attempt was pink! I have worked in kitchens for years early on and now years in healthcare - it doesn't take either background to know that chicken that is not thoroughly cooked is dangerous. After taking my 2nd salad away, realizing I had no time left for my lunch break, I let the server know I would not be ordering anything else. His response was "Alright. Well, I guess you're good to go then!" He couldn't get me out of there fast enough!



For the most part, the staff has always been great and extremely apologetic. And, for someone who rarely (if ever) complains at a restaurant, I think this one breaks a record.



Moral of the story - save yourself the trouble; you're better off heading the 10 minutes down the road to Harpers in Southpark.

Finally a nice restaurant at Carolina Place. This is a sister to the Sharon Road restaurant with the menu being the same. Great BBQ pizza, Betty's pimento hamburger and just about everything. Wait staff is usually attentive. Definitely recommend over the fast food places.
