Pediatric Care
Village Optical is fully equipped with the latest technology used for the treatment and management of eye diseases such as glaucoma, dry eye symptoms, conjunctivitis (pink eye) and trauma to the eye (including corneal abrasions). The Doctors at Village Optical work very closely with Ophthalmologist that specialize in pediatrics, glaucoma, retinal disease and cataract surgery.
Primary Care
Dr. Heather Vallino attended The Pennsylvania College of Optometry OD where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2003. After graduating, she completed a primary care residency program at The Eye Institute in Philadelphia. In August of 2004, Dr Vallino joined the doctors at Village Optical, while continuing her responsibilities as a Clinical Preceptor at The Eye Institute.

Dr. Derr is a contributor to DrawMD Ophthalmology, a patient education tool application for the iPad used by practitioners across the country. She enjoys specialty contact lens fittings, including keratoconus, multifocals, and gas permeable lenses. She enjoys providing vision care to families, from infant care to geriatric patients.
Laser Eye Surgery
Corrective Vision Surgery is an alternative for those patients who wish to be free from glasses and/or contacts. The Laser Assisted In-situ Keratomileusis, commonly known as the Lasik for corneal treatments, is a well accepted, safe and effective surgical procedure that intends to reduce refractive errors in human eyes by changing the shape of the cornea and thus its focusing power.
Cataracts
Dr. Vallino's wide range of expertise focuses on full scope optometry, including contact lens exams, disease diagnosis, management, and treatment, and pre and post operative LASIK and cataract examination. Currently, she enjoys working along-side her husband, Dr. Gregory Vallino, helping to provide the best family eye care in the area.
