Absolutely dreadful post office. I paid for a P.O. Box 6 weeks ago. Went in, waited in line forever (only 4 people in line). Once at the counter had to wait 25 mins. while they had a locksmith install a new lock on a box so I could get a key(?!) Like that's not done in bulk, in advance?! It's a post office!
It gets better-- Now 6 weeks later, ZERO MAIL has been delivered to that box. They are only open during office hours. I work in Chicago, can't go in there and stand in line to fix this problem during office hours, and they do not answer the phone--been calling for 30 minutes, just rings and rings! People are saying my mail is "Returned undeliverable." HORRIBLE. Please go to a different Post Office!

3 time now this post office has faked a delivery to my apartment, claiming they attempted to deliver and no one was home and that they left a notice. First of all, Im a stay at home mom and I was home all day (waiting for the expected deliveries) and not only did no one come to my door but no notice was ever left for me. Today when I logged in and saw on their tracking info that they attempted delivery twice yesterday, and to check the notice they left - I called to find out what was going on with my package (since again, no notice was left and no one ever came to my door). Well, guess what? They refuse to answer the phone. I called twice in a row and the phone rang at least half a dozen times each time I called and no one bothered to pick up. So bottom line here is - this post office refuses to do the job they are being paid for. They LIE and say they have attempted delivery because apparently they are to lazy to walk up 10 stairs and knock on my door. If I could have given this post office a negative star rating I would. 3 times this has happened to me and not once have they ever actually tried to deliver my packages. I honestly hope this place gets shut down. If Im paying for shipping, I EXPECT MY PACKAGE TO BE DELIVERED!!!!! Shame on you Palatine Post Office, you seem to have forgotten youre more expendable now than you ever were before. Watch yourselves, or UPS and FedEx will have you in the unemployment line before the next year passes.
