A Real Gem

What a wonderful store. Their wine selection is unsurpassed in the area. The deli section has an excellent selection of meat and cheese as well as fresh, on-premiss baked bread and a superb curry chicken salad. This shop is worth visiting

I'll definitely be back!

Four Moons brings an exceptional fine dining atmosphere to an area which is destined to see much expansion in the near future. Knowing nothing other than word of mouth reviews, I decided to take a trip with my family to Four Moons, and I was, for lack of a better word, impressed with the chef’s tastes and creativity with the menu.

Step into their world!

How Do I start!

You walk towards the restaurant, open the door and it’s like "Toto we are not in Kansas anymore!" The hostesses greet you promptly and you can't keep your jaw from dropping when you see the curved stone wall with cork floors, and water wall at the end of the entry hall; is right out of a design magazine. Then you walk towards the water and the entrance is to your left and the fun begins. You look inside and realize these people are not fooling around; it is first class all the way. From the wine wall to the awesome glass hand blown chandelier you will be as amazed as you will with the food. The servers do a very good job helping you out with the menu and all its delicious choices, they really helped my friend when he explained the Mac and cheese; not your ordinary style unless you call roasted garlic orzo with poached lobster on top with Hackleback caviar with a slight drizzle of white truffle oil ordinary!

The food here is consistent and the chef changes the menu often based on fresh ingredients; yes I have eaten here a couple of times and why not? It beats going to Columbia and Charleston and still not get what I have in my back yard! If you’re headed down RT 26 or 95 for that matter, and you’re looking for a fine dining experience, turn towards Orangeburg it’s about 5 miles off 26 on exit 145. You won't be disappointed, oh yeah…they received the wine spectator award and they are noted for an inexpensive wine list...this may not sound like much but they carry over 500 labels and some of the finest from Napa and abroad so if you want a great value on a wine and you don’t want to pay a markup that’s doubled and tripled, ripping their customers off come to Four Moons and enjoy...Oh did I mention this place has a sommelier!

Don't miss...

I recently visited Phases Moon Bar and I was very surprised at the “gem” I found in Orangeburg. I live in Columbia and never would have guessed that Orangeburg would have such an upscale, urban type of bar like Phases. After having a few drinks at the bar, we decided to order something of the menu. The food on the bar menu is served tapas style. I had the Beef Tenderloin on goat cheese and it was absolutely incredible! I also tried the Truffle Fries, which were the best! I also tasted the lamb with blue cheese ice cream. The ice cream was a wonderful surprise in your mouth, not as overwhelming as one would think. The restaurant manger collaborated with our bartender to suggest our wines and they were both right on target with our food. I found the bar refreshing and comfortable, not stuffy at all. It’s really a great place to bring friends and family and enjoy the atmosphere of an upscale establishment. You might think for a moment you are in New York, Chicago or even a European Bar with it’s outstanding décor. The staff is wonderful and not over zealous at all. Don’t miss it, and enjoy!

Leading by Example

Growing up in Columbia, and going to school at College of Charleston, I have been lucky enough to experience some fine dining in my life, however, never have I been to a restaurant quite like Four Moons. I heard hype of this new restaurant located in Orangeburg, and I finally decided to follow the recommendations and try it for myself. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by two lovely hostesses who immediately told me that my reserved table was ready, and I was walking down the short hallway with a color changing waterfall at the end. The food and service were both astonishing. The waitress knew exactly what recommendations to list based not only on the chef’s recommendations, but also her own personal favorites. I started with the famed “Macaroni and Cheese,” which is an appetizer of butter poached lobster and orzo pasta, topped with a spoonful of delicious caviar. This appetizer, might I add, is the best appetizer I’ve ever had! I ordered the Grilled Bison Strip Loin, while my partner enjoyed the “Biscuits and Gravy”, which were both delectable! The “Biscuits and Gravy” dish was my favorite, as it had a lobster with seared scallops with sweet corn and asparagus blended together. We couldn’t resist the desert menu and after much deliberation, I ordered the “RC Cola and a Moon Pie” and my partner chose the Tropical Sorbet Trio, as recommended by the waitress. My dish was elegantly prepared with a moon shaped cake decorated with plenty of chocolate and white chocolate syrup, served with an RC Cola ice cream float on the side. The Sorbet Trio was as delicious as anticipated and offered sorbets of apple with blueberries, blood orange, and lemon sage. After leaving Four Moons, I felt two things: completely satiated and compelled to return. I would highly recommend Four Moons to anyone from, or simply passing through Orangeburg, because it is a unique dining experience and you will be hard pressed to find anything comparable!

Bring your taste buds.

I was a guest at Four Moons last week and enjoyed every moment. The staff was friendly and suggested some of my new favorites. The lobster mac and cheese is a must try. The glazed salmon and then the best dessert ever, the moon pie. I will be back.

Four Moons is Incredible!

Surprising, outstanding, a true gourmet experience. Chef does a remarkable job with preparation and presentation. Very chic decor and atmosphere, could be a hip, fine dining establishment in a major city. The staff is very attentive and professional. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a true fine dining experience.
