Learning With Love Daycare, Inc.

On 1/14/10, I called this daycare to get their rates and to find out if they could accommodate my unique schedule which is full-time, but week-on/week-off. I don’t recall the name of the person I spoke with but I assume it was the director, owner or someone in charge because apparently she has the power to turn people away. When I explained my situation her exact words, which I remember vividly, were “Wow…I don’t take kids part-time now because I have enough kids now and I don’t need to do that anymore. And taking a child in and out of a daycare every other week will only cause chaos and confusion for the child.” First of all, that’s how these people talk to potential clients? We’ll do whatever want, because we can. Also, I understand that my situation is not typical. A simple “No, I don’t do daycare on an every other week schedule” would have been sufficient. I did not at all appreciate the unsolicited criticism of a difficult custody situation that I’m trying to make the best of. One would expect that daycare providers should have a little more understanding for unique family dynamics as they deal with many different families everyday. I wouldn’t take my children to this daycare center if they were paying me! On a side note, later on the same day that I made this call, I called It’s a Wonderful World near 108th & Fort. The person I spoke to there, I believe her name was Angie, was very nice, informative and passed no judgment at all when I explained my situation.
