I went in for a PO box. The clerk was kind and helpful. We even cracked a joke. She answered all my questions about using the box. The location was hard to find tho. No signs on 8 mile.

No rating at all. Most rude and disrespectful post office I have ever been to. As a store manager in retail, I always find disrespectful employees to be unacceptable whoever I go.

Note: NO STAR rating - I work at a business in Oak Park and I am totally disgusted with the post office. I think they do not want to handle boxes. A customer sent a box to us on 1/7, O.P. post office said they delivered it to our business address 1/9. We have searched everywhere for it and finally called to get more information on the delivery only to find out that they still had it! They were supposed to bring it out today and we got our mail but no package! I am trying to find out where it is right now and have been left on hold forever. Totally disgusted.

I agree... this branch is hard to find in the first place, but its right on my way home. But even after you get there, you usually encounter rude uncaring employees who never smile. If I did not know other good nearby branches like Southfield and Redford existed, I would never use the USPS based on this Oak Park location.

I give this location no stars. I have been going to the Oak Park, MI Post Office for years, and I have experienced the worst customer service. The tellers are rude, they do not smile, they carry on conversations with people they know who come in while there is a long line. However, it is the most convenient location for me to go to. Today September 26, 2014 makes all the other experiences nothing. Today their credit card system was down and I didn't see the sign, that wasn't prominently displayed. I had already put a little strip of tape, that I planned to purchase on my box. Instead of providing customer service they decided to inconvenience me and all the other customers in line, they were rude and embarrassed me. There was a kind customer who paid for the roll of tape. Bottom line the manager who was on duty between the hours of 4:30pm-5:30pm was no help at all said there was nothing she could do. I am thinking you are telling me that the United States Post Office can't write off 3.49 tape? I work in retail and take care of customers all day. Instead of being taken care of I was made to be embarrassed and the teller stated something derogatory. This was an absolute fail on the Oak Park, MI Post Office located on W. 8 Mile Rd. Oh, and another thing was my package was paid for! I was using a return label for a product. Before even looking to see if the package was paid for the manager told me "you can take your package somewhere else." Seriously....epic fail!
