Hank May's Discount Tire & Auto Center

Brought my Ford Explorer Sportrac in for a leaking thermostat housing. Found some other issues to watch but after review everything was fixed as promised. I used to use the dealership on my Mercedes and Explorer but found this Hank Mays honest and competant and 15% of the price of the dealership. I would go back.

After having a terrible experience with a competitor discount tire center, I was skeptical about using any other automotive mechanic service. However, I was pleasantly surprised with my recent experience at Hank May's of Stamford, CT. I am extremely satisfied with the service I received from here. The customer service provided from the team at the front office is surpassed by no other automotive mechanic I have experienced. I was happy about the detailed attentiveness of the mechanic and entire staff at Hank May's of Stamford, CT. I look forward to taking my vehicle here for service again in the near future.

Originally I had given Hank May's a bad review for doing work that shouldn't have been done on my car. I decided to take Hank up on his ad that if I wasn't happy he wanted to know about it. The next business day I received a call from Hank May himself. I was really impressed that he took the time to call me from his trip in AZ. He apologized fully and agreed that the work should not have been done considering the condition of the frame. If anything, the mechanic that worked on the car was overzealous in fixing everything he found and did not fully consider the condition of the vehicle and ultimately did not fix the original problem.

Hank offered to refund the repairs in full and was genuinely upset that I wasn't happy. It is rare to find someone who is true to their word these days and Hank is certainly that. Because he personally took the time to make this right, I can honestly say his business is one to be trusted. His store manager also called me to apologize. Thank you very much Hank! A new customer for life.

Took my car in today to have them look at my tires. They were fast and great about everything. They explained what needed to be done and answered my many questions. I would highly recommend them and will use them again.

On a side note if you do go in on a Saturday just know you will probably have to wait but its def worth the wait.

Updated my sports car now it's a new Corvette GS. Not long after I bought it one of the rear tires picked up a screw. Now these tires are massive 335-width low profile Michelin's at $500 ea but thankfully the tire could be safely patched. The mechanic did not leave any scratches on my equally expensive wheel so thanks Hank.

Hank May's is the most honest and reliable auto mechanic shop I have dealt with in the last forty years. The owner posts his cell phone number, so anyone giving less than 5 stars is just a whiner.

Identified and fixed issues that other shops and even one dealer could not identify.

Mounted and installed tires for me that I bought elsewhere, without batting an eyelash.

Done my emissions testing quickly. They are a certified emission shop and have the service completely separated from the rest of the business, you do not have to wait behind someone buying tires.

I have a sports car with *very* expensive wheels. They changed my tires and there was not one scratch on my precious possessions.

If you wait for service rather than drop-off, there are plenty of magazines and a TV to keep you occupied. (I just wish it was not tuned to CNN, lol).
