Charming Victorian Inn on a quiet private hillside street with a view. Oriental rugs and antiques with a welcome open Butler's pantry for afternoon or evening refreshment. It is the multi-course breakfast that beckons us back; served on fine china, the food is deliciously and freshly prepared, and varies from day to day. We are looking for an excuse to return!

We have stayed at this B&B twice, the first time in June of 2004. Each time we were charmed by the owner Aglaia, who is more like a doting aunt than our hostess. The house is a roomy Victorian furnished with cozy antiques. Deep porches with comfortable furnishings make lounging easy. I took my laptop outside and easily connected with the free wireless. Breakfast will take you all the way to dinner. Aglaia starts with a small cup of yogurt topped by fresh fruit. That's followed by a scoop of homemade granola which is served hot. The granola is worth the trip all by itself, and I never eat granola. Then comes the breakfast entree of the day: an omelet, breakfast quiche or other imaginative and delicious confection. There is plenty of juice, great coffee or tea. Guests are asked if they have dietary restrictions so each breakfast is tailored to please. Aglaia asks what time you want to eat breakfast, and if you say 5 AM, then that's when your breakfast is served. We usually ate around

We were so fortunate that there was space at this lovely Inn for us even though we didn't reserve ahead. The Hostess was so welcoming, and especially made our 4 year old daughter feel at home (so much that our daughter cried when it was time to leave). We would have spent our whole weekend just at the Inn, but followed great recommendations from Aglaia and her staff about things to see on our first visit to Vermont, and knew that at the end of the afternoon we would have a comfortable place to come back for refreshment and respite. Among many other services she provided, the Hostess made a reservation for us at a great restaurant for dinner. On our departure, she filled a bag with fruit (and would have given other treats had we not turned them down) for our trip back to Canada. I would definitely recommend this Inn to others

This bed and breakfast is located in Northfield, which is about 10 miles from Montpelier. It is a large, three-story house, with common bathes on each floor. It is very well-maintained. There are comfortable sitting rooms on the first floor. The proprietor is extremely friendly and hospitable. Breakfast is included. It is served in the dining room at a table which seats about 8 guests. The food and the service were very good.. If I couldn't get a room in Montpelier, where I was visiting, I would gladly stay here again.
