Soria Taxi Cab

IF i COULD GIVE THEM minus STARS i would. To begin with I call trying to get a taxi and the guy answering the phone humg up on me twice, would not tell me how much the 1.5 mile trip would cost, so I called another taxi. 15 minutes later the Soria taxi shows up honking his horn, I go downstairs to tell the driver that I had already called another taxi to find the taxi driving taking a piss in the street where I could clearly see his private parts!! DISGUSTING!!!!! I yelled at him and he left. NEVER AGAIN!! There are way t many other taxi services in Plainfield to EVER use Soria again, so I wont!

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS CAB COMPANY!!! They have at least one cab driver who, in my opinion, is immature and has anger management issues and who does not drive in a safe manner. My wife and I were on hwy 22 at the Raymond Ave intersection, westbound, at approximately 4:45 p.m. on 1/26/13 (my wife was driving). There was a Soria taxi behind us, driven by a large man in a red shirt and wearing a red cap. He appeared to be talking on some type of hands free device. Traffic had been stopped at the light and the light changed to green. As my wife was driving through the intersection, the car in front of us suddenly slammed on their brakes. My wife slammed on her brakes to avoid hitting them. The Soria cab driver behind us almost hit us--he appeared not to have been paying attention. Since no one was hurt, though, no big deal. However, after we were all safely stopped, the Soria cab driver layed on his horn, apparently angry that my wife had slammed on her brakes (again, to avoid hitting the car in front of us). He then pulled out into the other lane and flipped my wife the finger as he drove by. Then he jammed his cab in the lane right in front of us and slammed on his brakes. My wife, of course, had to jam on her brakes to avoid hitting his cab. This was a deliberate and unsafe act on the part of the Soria cab driver. His actions could have caused an accident. He did this in heavy traffic and without regard to anyone else's safety. I attempted to call Soria cab company regarding this incident, but they would not accept the call because I had blocked my ID. I did not want to risk having this large, immature cab driver with anger management issues and poor judgment to have my name. Based on his actions while driving the cab, I am concerned he would find our address online and come to damage our property, or worse, hurt or threaten my wife or me (I have a disability). We were genuinely shaken up by this man's actions, so much so that we feared that identifying ourselves with a formal complaint could lead to retaliation against us by this cab driver. ALTHOUGH I DO NOT BELIEVE THE CAB COMPANY WOULD CONDONE HIS ACTIONS, LACKING ANY OTHER WAY TO REGISTER A COMPLAINT, I CANNOT RECOMMEND USING THIS CAB COMPANY FOR FEAR THIS CAB DRIVER'S PASSENGERS, OR PEOPLE IN OTHER VEHICLES NEAR HIM, COULD BE HURT BY HIS UNSAFE BEHAVIOR!!! At around 11:20 PM tonight, I was in front of my home trying to turn into the driveway with my entire family in my vehicle and a Soria vehicle was speeding down my street at well over the posted speed limit. Fortunately the driver stopped before hitting the passengers side of my vehicle where my wife and 6 year old daughter were sitting. After a couple moments of trying to figure out who should go first, the driver rolled past me and then leaned out his window to shout curses at me in a foreign language.



My next calls in the morning will be to the NJ Department of Transportation's taxi and livery commission to lodge a complaint and then the chief of North Plainfield Police Department. I have witnessed Soria vehicles constantly disobeying the local 25 mph speed limit and ignoring stop signs that control access to the intersection in front of my home. I will not tolerate having to worry about my family and being afraid that some cabbie who's disobeying the law is about to crash into and kill a member of my family right in front of my house.

I have no problem with taxi companies and their right to do business, but this company lives in North Plainfield and their drivers cannot respect their own town's traffic laws or the residents that live around them. C'mon, Soria, you have to be a good neighbor too.
