Newtown Sew & Vac

I have seen heaven, and it’s Newtown Sew and Vac. It’s not a repair shop. It’s an EXPERIENCE.
I bought a cheap, used sewing machine on the internet, and to no one’s surprise, it didn’t work right, so I went to Newtown Sew & Vac. I was told to make myself comfortable in their “kitchen” to wait for their repairman Tom. Sandor's son offered me a fancy coffee and some chocolate covered bacon. It was like I was a family member! We chatted about how much I had paid for the machine, and I was embarrassed, thinking he would tell me I had gotten what I had paid for – a piece of junk. To my surprise, Sandor complimented me on having found a bargain.
Tom soon arrived and even attempted to fix it on the spot. Unfortunately, my stubborn bargain find just wouldn’t fix. So Tom offered several repair scenarios and even said he’d call the original seller before doing anything that would cost a lot “because it wouldn’t make sense to charge a lot for something that had cost so little”. It was like taking my broken toy to my favorite family member that I knew would value my toy as much as I did (and wouldn’t overcharge me for fixing it!)
I returned to pick up my machine the following week feeling pretty special. Sandor remembered me and explained that Tom had given the machine the extra TLC it needed and that the seller hadn't lied or missed something. He didn't want me to be mad at the seller. Pretty special, right?
As we were talking, a customer with a vacuum came in, and Sandor’s son was helping her to troubleshoot it just like they had done for me the week before. Sandor explained that they try to see if it’s something simple they can just fix on-site and not charge people – it’s not about the dollars, it’s about helping people.
Turns out, *I* wasn't special -- this family is. They help everyone who comes in with a broken “toy” and treat everyone like family. What an experience, and let me tell you, this place doesn’t just feel like heaven, it smells like it too!

This is a family owned and operated business with "old fashioned" service and values you don't find anymore. Friendly and knowledgeable, they go out of their way to serve their customers. Recommend them highly. And they don't just service vacuums and sewing machines. Don't let the name fool you, they sell the best appliances around.

You rarely find a business anymore with customer service that goes above and beyond! I went to Newtown Sew & Vac to repair my sewing machine. Not only did they work with me to get my machine fixed as fast as needed, but they also were wonderfully flexible and kind in helping me navigate the repairs needed. The owner and son are very friendly. Would absolutely recommend them to anyone who needs a repair.

Newtown Sew & Vac I walked in last Wednesday and had a problem with a Bissel Little Green machine. The gentleman I spoke with was very kind and helpful, telling me how to solve my problem. I have never before had this kind of courtesy and helpful advise . Thank you Newtown Sew and Vac . Jack Haage

We've been going here for over ten years. I had to write this today because I just had another wonderful experience! Thank you!

We have been coming here for many years. We had our very old Miele serviced to brand new condition. The vacuum is over 25 years old and works like a champ. We purchased a canister Miele about five years ago. Due to regular use and abuse, the cord connection stopped working. I called yesterday around 4 pm and they said it would take a couple to a few days to fix another problem with a loose connection to the power head. Okay, but we are expecting out of town guests...so he put us on A.S.A.P. we ran to the nearby grocery store and within half an hour I got a call saying it was all ready!!! Now THAT'S service!!! he fixed it, replaced the filter, as I requested and even buffed it clean of all the scratches and scuff marks. It is performing better than ever!!!



We also got our Miele oven and gas stove top from this store. Wonderful and beautiful appliances.



I would highly recommend this business to my friends. The highest quality in every regard.
