Getty Realty Corporation is one of the largest publicly traded real estate investment trusts specializing in the ownership and leasing of service stations, convenience stores and petroleum distribution terminals in the United States. It provides financing to the petroleum and convenience store industries for acquisitions, site upgrades and refinancing through our sale/leaseback and net lease financing programs. The corporation owns or leases more than 1,000 service station and convenience store properties and numerous petroleum distribution terminals throughout the U.S. Founded in 1955 as an ownership of a gasoline service station in New York, Getty Realty Corporation went public in 1971 under the name Power Test Corporation. In 1997, it spun off as a separate firm listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol GTY. Based in Jericho, N.Y., Getty Realty Corporation leases approximately 90 percent of its properties to Getty Petroleum Marketing.
