El Barrio Restaurant

After reading the reviews I was excited to head out to El Barrio. What a mistake. The menu was very limited. The prices very high. The food was terrible. I have lived in New Mexico and south Texas. I have tasted "authentic" Mexican food. This was not it. At best it was Tex-Mex, but it wasn't even good. The "tamale" is not served in the husk and is smothered in ranchero sauce, we had to ask the waitress to identify it on the plate. I thought is was another enchilade. The food was obviously microwaved. The sauce tasted tinny like the can it came out of. Avoid this place at all costs. I wish we had gotten a crappy gas station microwave burrito. At least I would have gotten what I expected.
