Overall

Well I was at that Hospital 6 times 4 out of 6 I got a infection and a period of years, and once when they changed my bedding when I went to get back into my bed there was a blood soaked band aid stuck to my sheets, then a male nurse his name was Mike as he walked down the hall and unwrapped my dressing with his bare hands and when got to the room I asked him about it, he told me I am Professional do you see any cuts on these hands I was in shock, and when I came back 10 days later with a infection he was called back to the room and saw how I was his got as big as saucers! I talked to a lawyer after recovered from that infection 2 months in a hospital bed at home receiving IV anti-bionics twice a day I was told there was nothing that I could do about it, well that is why I am posting this review so this does not happen to anyone else!

Filthy Pig's pen, They charged almost $5,000.00 to stay 3 days in a 5 by 9 make shift cubicle. Almost every staff member was non caring.I gave it one star only because the review could not be posted. If your Dr. Tells you to go there, run away!

Overall
I wouldn't go here unless I had to then be transferred to another hospital! !!!!

My daughter was seeing OB'S affiliated here! She did not see her Dr.during a visit due to over booking. Thank God they sent her to the hospital due to high blood pressure and protine in her urine they monitored her & had her do a 24 hr urine test! & told her to come back to monitor again! when she went back her Dr. was on call & told her she was fine to just go to the office the next day! The Dr. who got her urine test results and told her not to wait to go see the specialist they already referred her to a fetal Dr. because they noticed the baby didn't seem to grow from one the month before and that month (which they never did the blood work that they due when you are like 16 or 18 months pregnant to make sure everything is ok but can't do once your so many months & he had noticed that blood work was not done so he was gonna send her somewhere to get a better ultrasound done to make sure everything was ok that they can't do at Mt. Clemens but said no he looked at her other ultrasound & everything looked good)..
But the month before everything went bad I went to her appt with her to make sure she told him everything that was wrong with her she wasn't feeling right!!!
She had all the signs of pre-eclampsia!! Everything she told him he said she was fine it was nothing!! She was also taking her blood pressure at home and had brought the journal in with her where she was keeping track!! If not for the Dr's office over booking people on her next appt a month later she would have not seen a different Dr. who wanted her to go straight to the hospital!! To be monitored and ordered a 24 hr urine test which she had to take home with her and bring back the next day and they wanted her to be seen at the hospital again the following day and they wanted her to go to Royal Oak Beaumont to get a Ultrasound of the baby and see a fetal specialist Dr.for a consultation (which she didn't know about that).. So after her Ultrasound they seen on the paperwork about the fetal Dr.

Hospital from Hell

This was the Hospital from Hell for me; both my step-father and close friend died there, both within the last 3 years.

My step-father (who had cancer) was admitted with a bladder infection. He was further diagnosed with gull bladder problems although I was assured he'd be fine after a small procedure. At that point he was doing pretty good - the next day (after the procedure) he was moaning in horrendous pain and dying; the hospital did not know what to do. He died 38 hours later under hospice and a lot of morphine.

My best friend, now also deceased (who was a diabetic with off the charts glucose levels) was doing wonderful after he was finally stabilized. But this is a teaching hospital; I think they gave him food too soon or some kind of mistake was made. During the second night he aspirated and his heart stopped. I don't know how long it took the medical staff to find him in his room, but he was oxygen deprived for over ten minutes. When he revived he was brain damaged and in a coma. I wanted him transferred to another hospital that specializes in neurology (I was his patient advocate and Medical Power of Attorney), but this hospital refused to transfer him until I brought in an attorney. The doctor was cruel and almost said my friend was better off dead, trying to coerce me to put him into hospice (as they done to my dad). They didn't even want to give him a chance, although recovery with this condition can take months and his Living Will clearly stated he wanted Life Support unless brain dead (which he was not).

Greatly weakened after 2 weeks at this hospital without a needed trach or PEG feeding tube, he died after the third week at a much better hospital (Henry Ford, Detroit).

I would never recommend Mt. Clemens Regional Hospital to anyone, unless they enjoy medical mystery novels and would like to actually be involved in one. I felt as if I were walking through the twilight zone or across pages of a horror story with a shockingly bad ending.

This hospital was spooky and sinister. How it gets such high ratings is way beyond me.

Overall
Worst in the area

Much of the staff is OK, but there seems to be an exceptionally high number of really uncaring people working at the hospital. Three of my relatives have been mis-diagnosed by the doctors working out of this hospital, so if you have to go to MCG...GET A SECOND OPINION.

Also the hospital is unclean looking and the food is horrid. If a non-emergency, go to St. Johns hospital, which is far, far better.
