My daughter was just discharged from ORMC BHU in Middletown, NY. This has been her 2nd admittance to this place(three months apart). I could only hope I never have to send her to the hospital again, but if I do, it will never be to that asylum again!!! The dr. and social worker that was suppossedly caring for my daughter are nothing but power freaks, who are unprofessional and simply put disgusting people who should not be anywhere near people who are troubled. No one will answer questions and are rude about it. I spoke with my daughter on the phone every day sometimes 2 & 3 times plus went to visit her everyday. Everyday I asked her did your social worker come to see you. Yes but not on a daily basis. I asked did you see your dr. For a week they couldnt even tell my daughter who her dr. was, she didn't even know her drs name!. And when I did manage to grab someone who worked there, she briefly talked with me and told me they will have a team meeting and will invite me there to voice my concerns. Well, that never happened!!! When I did finally get to see her social worker and I explained to her what the administrative dir. of the unit told me, she stated, and rather nastily, "Well that's not the way it works here, and we don't have to tell you anything". This is what a professional says to a distraught parent. The dr. stated to my daughter "Your mother is nasty". This is what a professional says to a patient in the psychiatric ward. These people got angry with me because they overheard me telling my daughter "if these people can't or wont do their job, I will find someone who will". That didn't sit well with them because they do not like people standing up for their rights!!! There is so much more wrong doing in ORMC's Bevhavioral unit..it deplorable. Please I beg all of you who read this---DO NOT send your loved ones there...Do your research and investigate. Go elsewhere please. I do not wish anyone to go through what we did twice!!!! And one more very important thing. If you do not want all of your loved ones personal information exposed to all of the other patients and guests, as well as other staff members, stay away. I say this because the way they work is everyone visits in one room, which that part is okay. However, when the social worker and/or dr. sits down with you in front of all these people and exposes everything. This a breaking a huge HIPPA law!!!

The staff's behavior that I witnessed in the ER waiting room is absolutely appalling. An elderly gentleman asked the greeters/receptionist for a drink of water for his wife who was clearly in respiratory distress. The man was told that he had to get it himself at the pantry (wherever that is) although he himself could barely walk and he did not want to leave his wife in the waiting room in a wheelchair. My husband then went and got the woman a drink because the woman at the desk clearly could not be bothered because she actually was texted on her phone in the draw under the computer's keyboard. I clearly had the opportunity to witness her texting because as I approach the desk and stood there she ignored me.When I called her out on texting in the workplace and asked where I could get the woman a drink, the receptionist rudely told me it wasn't my job. I told the receptionist she was absolutely right and that it was her job to see that the patients were helped. The same greeter/receptionist also had no clue as to how she should address someone with mental illness (clearly her training was minimal). The attitude that she presented to this mentally ill person totally provoked her which in turn led to a meltdown n which security needed to be called. The Receptionist then discussed and complained to the security guard, calling that patient by name, and clearly preaching that patient's confidentiality. The same security guard screamed at a family member of a patient when asked to be let through the doors. The security guard actually had the nerve to yell at the gentleman that he wasn't a mind reader! Minutes later a woman who clearly suffered from an ankle or a foot injury came through the doors requesting a wheelchair. The security guard told her "it's over there" and pointed in the direction of the chair. The woman had to stand near the door and wait for the not so competent greeter/reception to bring a wheelchair as the security guard stood with his elbow on the counter just watching. WHATEVER HAPPENED TO COMMON COURTESY AND COMPASSION FOR OTHERS?!?! Especially being that a hospital is in the business of caring for others! One more thing I forgot to mention… The reception desk goes unmanned for extended periods of time in which patients lined up waiting to check in. The language and inappropriate conversations that came from the overly obnoxious security guards' office was disgraceful. WHERE'S THE PROFESSIONALISM?!?! So very sorry that we did not ask the ambulance to go to Good Samaritan!

I had just wrote a very upsetting but true, o sooo true review about the way that the patience on the mental health floor r treated.. but with that I have one, and only one thing good to say.. ur nurses and ur �/a r the best and most helpful and caring staff I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

I must be having trauma related to this hospital. I have big problems sense I got concealed information as being a child abuser. The threat of the child being placed in foster care or the brother raising the child. I would like to know why the psychiatrist Dr. Wachob Shari. never asked me any questions. He just made me do all the speaking.



Things would of been more straightened out if questions were asked about this situation.



Now what happens if I was teaching. I would of been teaching if it was not for a nut that I went to visit in fl. I was substituting in another state at the time.



What could of Virginia done then.



Also the extreme of the dictating and controlling factors in this hospital.



Why was I given people that were going to retire.



Is horton hospital going to pay a college loan?



I think the first time I was told I was suicidal at goshen. The arab should of been fired.

Got mugged and rap-d over this hospital in 2005. After running from one state to another deathly ill. Harassed at a sales job ruining my sales over being threatened fostercare. IF YOU WANT TO BE MADE A SPECTACLE DEAL WITH THE PEOPLE AT HORTON HOSPITAL. Advocates emails very sarcastic and no help. I GET BILLS OVER THEM THAT IS THE BEST!! DESTROY WORK AND FINANCES. THEY SHOULD OF ALL BEEN TERMINATED.



CAN YOU IMAGINE A CHILD GOING TO FOSTERCARE THAT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE THERE.

The worst place. If you want to get blackbald. Get abused by the help. Discriminated on then go to horton. Threatened fostercare. If you wanted to be dictated to and then avoided go to horton. No communication there. They set you up to destoy happieness. Make you miserable. Was happy. I stated in 2005 to the psychiatrist how happy and thrilled I was having the baby. Just one statement NOT WITH THE GUY; SO WHAT!!!! Next thing they set you up. Make misery.



MAYBE THE SOCIAL WORKER AT THE CLINIC SHOULD NOT OF ASKED WHERE IS THE BOYFRIEND AND ASK YOU WANT THE PSYCH CENTER?



WELL I RELATED IT. MAYBE THE ARAB SHOULD OF BEEN TERMINATED THIS QUACK. ADVOCATE THOUGHT HE WAS WONDERFUL
