Do not bother going here to buy your door. It has been a major issue and hassle and ended up being a lemon. I know have to go to the BBB and probably court. To make a long story short. We had a varnished door that was a beautiful color and design. In 3 wks the varnish started to fade and door crack. Every time we called the company to come fix it, they sent the painter, and every time it was bad. They must have come 5-7 times to fix the door. Finally the owner came and sent over a new painter to really fix the varnish. What a disaster. The painter took it upon himself to paint my door in terracotta and got rid of the varnish. I almost cried, plus this guy was super rude when I was telling him that he messed up my door, painted it a terrible color and never got permission to do so. In addition they kept lying and saying that the way my house faced, weather conditions and the sun all would damage my door with varnish which is why it was better to paint it. That's BS, we had a varnished door before, and many neighbors on my side have varnished doors and no issues. Yes do they need maintenance, yes; we understand that, but not every 3 wks. So we kept complaining, he found another painter to strip, revarnish and fix the crack that was occurring again!!! The guy did a great job (so we thought) the color was good, not like original but satisfactory, but that door crack keeps occurring. So we kept calling the guy who fixed our door to come back b/c he swore the crack would not occur and that this door was 100% fixed, he kept saying he would pass by but never did and now won't pick up our phone calls.

In the end we realize the wood used is very cheap, not durable, the owner did try to fix but what he should have done is changed our door b/c it's a lemon. Not to mention he was rude to use b/c we complained about a door we paid a lot of money for and was turning out to be a lemon. He kept trying to remedy with a band aide when it really needed was to have a completely new door installed. Now we are stuck with a low quality door that will unfortunately not last and we paid a lot of money for it. You can say it was in the shop wkly for the first 6 months of its life. I will never recommend this place again as their quality and service is crappy. As I appreciate the owner Jorge tried to help, he didn't fix our door at the end, he didn't check on it to see if we were happy or satisfied, he gave us a lot of hardship. Some people don't care, I guess, about the quality of items they sell. We spent a lot of money and will need a new door in a couple of years. I really hope the BBB takes this upon them to investigate I'm sure I'm not the only one who this happened to and I will need to take this to court, which sucks....so that is why I want to tell everyone to STAY AWAY!!!

I have to agree with everything that has been said about this company, I Wish there was a 0 star rating because that is truly what they deserve. Horrible customer service and lack of detail. Stay far away... Friendly advice!

STAY FAR, FAR AWAY!!!

I purchased quite expensive doors from this company. The quality of their product and installation is extremely poor. They are unprofessional and do not honor any type of warranty. I ended up having to pay a professional carpenter to fix and replace damaged items on my doors. Do yourself a huge favor and STAY CLEAR AWAY from this place!! You will save money and headaches, believe me. I have now been made aware of many other unsatisfied customers with pending litigation involving these people. Check out FPG for better prices and professional service. Also, stay away from House of Doors!!!!

We feel that this statement is false and misleding, this sounds like this person is a employee of FPG who lost a large sale to there competition, these is our legal stand we feel that negative unsupported accusation shuold not be posted. we have no knolledge of any of our customers having any issues with the service or products we provide.

Not Recommended/Horrible/Bad Customer Service/Attitude

Bad cust. service w/ an attitude. Company Disposition: Customer is always wrong. Horrible customer service.

1) Promised installation 2 wks from day of purchase. Took 5 wks & had to call them constantly.

2) Sent 1 installer (65+ yrs. old) to install a door 150+lbs. Luckily my husband was home to help the old man.

3) Company didn't come to make prior measurements. The frame had to be widen in order to fit the new frame & door.

4) No warning of construction dust all over the house. When I complained of not being warned to place blankets to cover my stuff, the owner's wife said that I had no common sense. The installer confirmed that usually the job DOES NOT involve a cloud of disintegrated wall all over the house. I had the AC on!!! A courtesy warning is not too much to ask for!

5) I called to talk 2 owner & they said he would be @ my house @11am. At 12:30pm, no owner, I called again & lady said owner wasn't coming.

6) The owner's wife came to drop off a missing part and I caught her before leaving. She introduced herself as a sales person for the company. She excused the company's poor communication w/ me due to understaffing & being busy helping other customers. My reply to that, 'you are lucky to have other customers to attend to while you ignore me a 'PAYING CUSTOMER'.

7) The door was installed to open on the opposite side!!! What were we supposed to do??? Wait another 6 weeks for another frame and door?

8) I asked company 2 pay $60 for house cleaning of the mess the installer made & the owner's wife said I was being impatient. How could I, I accepted the installer's error, bad communication, rudeness, & bad service? The company paid us the $60 to clean the house but deducted it from the installer's pay!!! The installer worked non-stop 8am - 7:30pm!

9) Still missing a part from the knocker!

Save yourself the aggrevation & nightmare of our 1st and last door w/ this company. . .
