Bravo

Gold's Gym South Beach ranks as one of the best gym experiences I've had. Making changes to your body isn't easy but I connected with the right people here at Golds. I have been enrolled in their yoga programs and take several other classes and their cardio equipment is state of the art with thin tv's on every piece. I started losing weight and then muscle too. This is when one of the top people at Gold;s on the beach told me that I was canabolizing my own muscle. They set me aside and went over my diet and my overall routine. They helped me change it up and start mixing in exercises with machines and change the order of when I do cardio and classes. I still do all the same classes but I eat differently and I do my weights in a whole different way. I'm able to apply a more scientific method to my investment in time thanks to Gold;s Gym South Beach. Spain Man

Overall
Thank you to Gold's Gym South Beach

In 2007 and 2008 I gained 17lbs and was miserable. Normally I consider myself in good shape and always have compliments but then in 2007 I blew up. In the first half of 2008 it was even worse. I was at another gym on the beach and not really happy with the environment and I didn't have much motivation. I joined Gold's South Beach on Alton Road and the team over there inspired me. I was introduced to two personal trainers and a dozen classes that helped make the idea of working out allot less boring. They have a Power Plate and they've got work outs that make you feel accomplished and like you are making progress. I started to really like it and its not easy to enterain me. I've lost the weight entirely and now I'm in better condition and feel really good. When I'm in Texas or Arizona I can work out at dozens of Gold's Gyms on vacation in Dalls and viisting home. I would give this Gold's Gym in South Beach 5 stars and their bathrooms are clean and smell good. Group Fitness classes will make you move and many are well choreographed and push you. Thanks Gold's!!

Overall
Incompetence

Meeting customer needs is not a priority once they tie you to a two year contract! The incompetence of employees and management is an understatement. Every month they have a new set of employees. One dumber than the other.

When it was time to updated my expired credit card - front desk did not know how to update it in the computer. He did a manual payment. He forgot to tell me that there was a $49.95 manual fee to process the payment of $69.95. Imagine that! Meanwhile, my credit card was still not updated in the system so their billing company was continuing to charge $49.95 automatically in addition to my payment. It tells you alot about the gym by the vendors they associate with....hum. I complained to the general manager who was very arrogant and dismissing....like if I wasn't there. I explained the problem to him so that he would have his facts right when he spoke out of context. I told him that I tried to update my credit card and I should not have been charged manual fees. Front desk should have told that me that I was being charged a service fee by the billing company. He replied that it was my responsibility to know that. Needless to say he continued to be rude and arrogant while he was updating my information in the computer.

Gold's Gym does not display a high level of customer concern to situations and it was not a priority to update my account for an entire month. The manager was determined to let me know this was my problem. Keeping customers satisfied and meeting continuous customer expectations once they take your money stops when you sign the contract. Some gyms on the beach do not require a contract. I'm sure Gold's gym does not need to retain customers with that gimmick they have going on with service fees they probably split with their vendor.
