Founded in 1879, Buckner International is a nonprofit organization that serves widows and more than 30,000 orphans. The organization is a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability. It operates several residential facilities for abused and neglected children. Buckner International features health care, educational and counseling programs. The organization conducts vocational and educational skills development sessions. It offers educational materials, clothes and developmental toys. Buckner International provides foster care, advocacy and adoption services. The organization features nutritional programs for teenagers, families and senior citizens. In addition, it offers various recreational activities that include music, dance, and arts and crafts. Buckner International also provides residential care services in China, Guatemala, Ethiopia, Kenya, Latvia, Mexico, Romania, Russia and Peru. The organization is located in Dallas.
