Michelle J. Cunningham is a graduate of Ursinus College and the Villanova University School of Law, receiving her Juris Doctorate degree in 2008. During law school, she competed as a member of the National Trial Team and also served as an editor for the Villanova Environmental Law Journal. After graduating from law school, Michelle gained several years of extensive litigation experience through her role as an Assistant District Attorney in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. She handled contested foreclosure and ejectment proceedings throughout Pennsylvania and independently handled numerous non-jury trials. Michelle is admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania and New Jersey and to the United States District Court for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania.

James P. McEvilly, III is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and its Law School. After law school, Jim practiced with a large litigation firm and then a prominent litigation boutique in Philadelphia before joining a firm with a national practice in Wilmington, Delaware prosecuting securities class actions and corporate governance litigation. Jim has extensive experience litigating and trying complex business litigation and commercial disputes in state and federal courts throughout the United States.

Jeffrey R. Brenner is a summa cum laude graduate of Drexel University and a graduate of Temple University School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1999. In addition, Jeff is a graduate of Temple University School of Business, receiving his Master of Business Administration degree. Prior to joining Marcus & Hoffman, Jeff spent fifteen years in a boutique business law firm in Philadelphia where he served as a partner for eight years. Jeff has extensive experience representing nonprofit organizations as general corporate counsel and advising them on matters including corporate governance, real estate, construction, and mortgage lending. Jeff is admitted to the state bars of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York. Robert J. Hoffman is a graduate of Drexel University and the Widener University School of Law, receiving his Juris Doctorate degree in 1993. Rob served as law clerk to the Honorable Anthony R. Semeraro, Court of Common Pleas, Delaware County, Pennsylvania and was an associate in the Philadelphia office of Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin where he litigated medical malpractice, accounting malpractice, and premises liability matters. Rob became a founding partner and shareholder of Marcus & Hoffman, PC in 1999. Rob is admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

The goal of Stage One collections is to contact the delinquent unit owner in an attempt to resolve the matter through written correspondence and without the need to file a legal action. Stage One collection activities include our review of the tax records to assure that all owners of the delinquent unit are properly listed with our firm, our initial demand letter as required by the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, all communications with the unit owner or the unit owner’s attorney, all communications with your Association, and all other activities up to, but not including, the filing of a complaint.
