I had a consultation with him for custody and he then turned around and did one with my now exhusband. Also discussed what I told him to my ex. I know because my ex told me details of what Joseph and I said.

Check other attorneys and their fees and billing practices before speaking with this one! He does not provide billing statements, but is happy to inform you when he has used up all of your retainer or previous payment. This man will make you feel comfortable that he can and will handle your case to your advantage when you first meet with him. However, he is very disorganized, does NOT review the information you give him and become familiar with it before court hearings. Mr. Cordell is more concerned with maintaining a cordial relationship with the opposing attorney than he is in working for his client. He has a very chauvinistic attitude and seemed to irritate the female judge in my case. He was even advised by the judge that perhaps he should spend a little more time with his client! This man's main interest is not your case. It is his wallet. There are far better, more qualified, more diligent, and less expensive attorneys out there. Look around!

I think that he is very professional at what he does. He knows alot of things and does his best. He may be expensive but hey if he gets what you want then why worry about the money cost. It takes alot of money doing what he needs to do to get you what you want. I have been dealing with Mr. Cordell for years now and never had a problem at all. I was not remotely impressed with his legal knowledge as evidenced by his courtroom behavior. I paid for a major segment of our case and the funds were GONE by the time the real court date rolled around because of the way he bills. He will NOT send monthly statements like the professionals do, even if you ask for them. Do your research; there are far finer attorneys for about half price of this one (more wins).

Take your consultation with a grain of salt.I accompanied my neighbor to Mr. Cordell's office for an initial consultation. My neighbor was a laid-off factory employee and Vietnam Veteran being charged with a felony dated 5+ year ago. With all the legal documents in hand Mr. Cordell offered to take the case for a minimum of $2,500.00.Surprisingly, my friend went to court yesterday. His case was dismissed on the grounds of the statute of limitations. Mr. Cordell didn't know that the case would be dismissed or was his only concern the $2,500.00? Did Mr. Cordell know the statute of limitations in the state where he practices?Friend or foe? Shame on you Mr. Cordell, shame on you!
