Prestige Transmissions & Auto

A year ago, they rebuilt my husband's transmission within two days. That's with ordering the parts and everything. We got a one year warranty on it and just before the year was up, the transmission went out again. We took it back on Monday of last week, they said it would be ready on Thursday. On Thursday it wasn't ready, said it would be Friday. On Friday, nope sorry, won't be ready until Monday. Well, come Monday..GUESS WHAT?!?!? STILL NOT READY! They told us it would be done by 3 today. We got up there at 4:30....and what do you know...still not ready. They finally got it done just after 6. It took them NINE days, NINE DAYS to fix our car when a year ago, it took TWO!!! You know why? Because it was a warranty issue now and they weren't making any money off of it so they took their time fixing it. So, if I were you, I would steer clear of this place! They lied and they are very unreliable. They care nothing about warranty work much less customer service!

I took my 2003 Duramax to Prestege because it was leaking transmission fluid. Melvin changed filters and fluid. I had it towed in because it still leaked. He told me he drove it and it made a lot of noise and went into safe mode, and that the case was cracked, transmission was beyond repair and he would have to replace it with a new one. I asked him why he had driven it when it was low on fluid and that was precisely the reason I had it towed in. He didn't answer my question. He told me that it would cost $6800. for a new transmission. When I came to pick it up the price was then $7400. I called GM and they quoted me a price of $5750. AAMCO Transmission was $6250. I would not recommend anyone doing business with Prestege. They are slow, incompetent, and raised the price after the quote, and I could have saved $2950 for the same transmission elsewhere. I think if this shop would have done their job in the first place and not driven it, the tramsmission could have been repaired.
