About Steven Alimaras, LMHC Steven Alimaras, LMHC, is a licensed clinical psychotherapist and founder of Worrier 2 Warrior, a mental health counseling practice with locations in Astoria, Queens, and Manhasset, New York. His goal as a therapist is to help others push past thoughts, emotions, and behaviors they once thought impossible and unimaginable because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion. For Steven, the journey to becoming a licensed therapist didn’t follow a linear trajectory. The struggles he endured to achieve his career goals have helped him better understand and empathize with patients who suffer from anxiety disorders, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and other common mental health disorders. Steven’s father, a fellow therapist, helped guide him along the way. Today, Steven hopes to offer that same level of support and guidance to his patients through cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), couples therapy, individual therapy, and more. When other people ask Steven why he chose to become a therapist, his answer is simple: “I’m here to help ‘YOU’ become the best ‘you’ that you can be.” When Steven isn’t helping patients, he loves going to the gym or joining a competitive game of pickup basketball. He’s an avid reader who raced through the “Harry Potter” series in college like it was a full-time job. He adores his beagle, Zoe, and looks to Rocky Balboa as a constant source of motivation. Steven and the Worrier 2 Warrior team are welcoming new patients. While the practice operates primarily through telehealth, in-person visits are available.
