I LOVE the horses at Bear Creek Stables! The instructors are GREAT, they are so patient. I have been riding at Bear Creek Stables for over one year, so I have rode over half of their horses. I have always been pleased with every horse that I have rode.

Overall
great barn for any age/discipline

I started riding at BCS at the age of 7 as a summer camper. I continued going to camps each summer for several years, eventually becoming a camp "helper" (volunteer during camp), starting group lessons year round, showed for 3 years, and taught there for 2. I have ridden at BCS for 11 years now, and miss it very much now that I am away at college. The people are great, always pushing you to do your best, but never being mean about it, and the horses are amazing! Even in group lessons with up to 8 people, you still get individualized attention and feedback on how to improve.

As far as boarding, I do not have my own horse, but I always appreciated that BCS never tried to "pull the wool" over potential boarders' eyes, and were realistic about the fact that a barn, housing large animals, cannot be spotless 24/7, and making it so just to try to impress boarders, as some barns do, is a lie, and, as I see it, disrespecting the boarder by lying to them.

Overall, BCS is an amazing place to do anything from casual western riding, to children's summer camp, to training for shows or boarding your own horse!

Well run stable

I have been riding at Bear Creek Stables for about a year and taking lessons once a week. The horses are healthy and well taken care of. The instructors are patient but also encouraging students to increase their confidence and horsemanship skills. I would recommend this barn for all ages and skill levels.
