If you don't dress like a surfer they won't let you in

We entered with a large group of 10+, 7 girls and 3 guys. There was no problem when we entered. However, they were obviously keeping an eye on us because we were a large group of brown people, who according to their ignorant minds were going to start trouble. Within an hour each of us had had a beer and a drink. The problem started an hour later when we were dancing and talking, which I assume is normal in any ordinary bar where there is no profiling based on race. It seems Panama Joes and Sharkeez thatmanages it does not like to see 12 brown people enjoying themselves without assuming they are drunk and causing trouble. Unprovoked, a security guard came up to my boyfriend who was standing onthe side talking to another friend and told him to step outside. He was baffled so he calmly asked why and that’s when the security guard began to call the other guards over. I suggested we go outside to speak to them. When we were outside we spoke with the head security guard,and questioned why were asked to leave, the other security guard said we were “too drunk.” We had been in the bar for about and hour had two drinks and we were too drunk? I can assure you there were lots of people that were way more intoxicated than us. The security guard sspoke, without rational, like they were uneducated and prejudiced. They had obviously made up their mind to target our group because of our race because about a half hour later another one ofour friends was forced to leave because he was inappropriately dressed. However, when questioned outside the securityguard forgot what he had said just minutes prior and came up with anotherexcuse. I feel personally offended that this establishment puts ignorant, prejudiced, irrational people in charge of security. I assumed Sharkeez respects and encourages diversity at their establishments but I was wrong. It is only ignorance and racism to judge anyone because of their skin color but this is obviously how Panama Joes operates. It is outrageous that we were profiled when we entered and targeted to be kicked out. This is a serious matter and I hope that Sharkeez takes it as such. I hope that appropriate action is taken because this type of behavior is unacceptable and needs to be addressed.

What a shame....This could of been a new place to hang out. It was full of 45 - 55 year olds. When the band took a break the music was bad and down low so you could not even hear it very well. What a mood killer.
