Primary Care
I had been experiencing severe neck pain and numbness in my arm and fingers from all the strain of my large, heavy breasts. After meeting several months of appointments with my primary care physician and physical therapist, breast reduction surgery was the recommendation to improve my symptoms. My primary care physician referred me to a doctor in Honolulu. There were not many doctors who performed this operation in Maui, of course only implants!

Ultrasound
Our practice is the first in Hawaii to offer the new non-surgical Ultherapy ™ procedure for the tightening and lifting of loose, laxed skin. Cleared by the FDA in September 2009, it utilizes medical ultrasound - renowned for its gentleness and safety - in a completely non-invasive 30- 60 minute procedure. We place an ultrasound wand on top of your skin to send sound waves below the surface, causing tissue to contract and new collagen to form over time. There is no downtime whatsoever with Ultherapy, and you can return to normal activities immediately. We now have the ability to use ultrasound imaging to SEE the layers of tissue we want to treat below the surface of the skin, and then focus the same ultrasound energy to TREAT just the targeted tissue. This allows us to be much more precise in how we treat your skin. Because this is accomplished without disrupting the epidermis, or top layer of skin, patients experience no downtime. Good clinical results can be seen with just one treatment, but excessive skin laxity may require additional treatments. This entirely new type of non- surgical skin tightening can produce some immediate skin firming and toning right after the treatment, but the full lifting and tightening effect will build gradually over 2-3 months. Although Ultherapy will not produce the same dramatic rejuvenation (or have the same longevity) as a facelift or browlift, when combined with tissue fillers, Botox and/ or skin resurfacing procedures, Ultherapy can truly offer a non- surgical solution to those who are looking for something more gradual and natural- looking, with less discomfort and no down- time with less risks- a true "Lunch time facelift."

This revolutionary device uses a laser to help melt the fat in those unwanted areas to allow for easier removal (rather than relying on the use of blunt mechanical force to dislodge the fat). Nose Surgery
To begin the surgery, tiny incisions are made which allow the surgeon to access the underlying nasal structure. Once the skin is opened, the cartilage and bone are reshaped to form the basis for the new look. Two basic methods are utilized for performing nose surgery. These methods are referred to as the ‘open’ and the ‘closed’ techniques. The open technique allows for maximum visibility and control over the procedure. The incision used in the open technique is placed in-between the nostrils on the columella (the medial nostril strip). In the closed technique, the incisions are internal and heal faster; however, there is less surgical control over the outcome. The physician can discuss which technique is best when the patient arrives for the initial consultation visit.

Otoplasty
Ear surgery is commonly performed under general anesthesia for children and local anesthesia for adults. The standard otoplasty procedure brings the ears closer to the head. Otoplasty begins with an incision hidden in the crease behind the ear. This incision allows the cartilage located behind the ears to be reshaped in order to position them closer to the head. The procedure takes approximately one to two hours, depending upon the extent of surgery.
