My knees were injured numerous times when I was younger; my left knee was messed up in 1972 while I was in the Marine Corps. My right knee started bothering me again several years ago. An Orthopedic Dr would inject my knee. It would be fine for about 6 months then go back to lots of pain. They told me I could only have the shot 2 or 3 times. My left knee started bothering me in Nov 2017 to the point of it giving out completely. They did MRI and other tests and started talking surgery. By this time, I was having lots of trouble navigating stairs, getting up/down out of chairs, etc. In December 2017 a friend had Dr Michaud do stem cell procedure on both his knees. He could not say enough good things about it and the improvement in his knees; therefore I started checking into stem cell. After lots of reading, I decided to see Dr Michaud. My initial consultantion was wonderful. Dr Michaud totally explained the procedure in such a way that I became sure this was the way for me to go. I thought: MY stem cells means no rejection factor; if the stem cell procedure does not work I can still have a knee replacement; the price was about 1/20th the cost of knee replacement; and it was as an outpatient. What was not to like about it? We scheduled the procedure. At 10 am my wife and I went into Dr Michaud's office, she proceeded to take stem cells, fat cells, and blood from my body. These were all centrifuged together then she came back and proceeded to put the concentrate in my knees. My left knee took more, even some under the knee cap as it was a lot worse then the right knee. At noon, just 2 hours later, I walked down the stairs and out to the car with my wife. It has now been 4 months since having the proceedure. I take stairs with no pain in the rt knee and very little in the left. I walk normally. I get up and down with no problems. I would say my right knee is 105% and my left is 95% and improving daily.
I am all smiles, I am 68 and life is good!

I went to Dr. Michaud because a orthopedic surgeon told me that I need a knee replacement. Dr. Michaud spent about 45 min. explaining to me what was wrong with my knee, how the knee supposed to look and work and how my knee looked. She was so thorough when she explained how stem cells work. After 10 weeks I'm almost totally pain free. I have been very pleased with my experience with Motus Biologics and Dr. Michaud. My issue was great disabling pain in both shoulders, primarily from arthritis. I could not sleep at night, make any lifts that required the slightest twist, nor even easily do ordinary activities such as turning the steering wheel of a car without increasingly strong painkillers and anti-inflammatories.I had been told by orthopedists that my only alternative was surgical replacement of both shoulders. Dr. Michaud examined me with help of ultrasound. She was very frank from the beginning about how the stem cell treatment worked and what I could expect and hope for. I would never regain full range of motion nor regrow all the lost cartilage. However, she felt that pain reduction was possible. The result has been far more than I hoped for Some pain reduction was almost immediate and the shoulder pain continued to lessen until it has all but disappeared. The treatment itself is done at the clinic. As compared to surgery and the aftermath it is a walk in the park.

Dr. Michaud made the limitations clear. I was not “cured.” How long the pain reduction would last is uncertain. And so on. But the result has been a major improvement in my quality of life. I have stopped all damaging anti-inflammatories. Aches and pains occur elsewhere resulting in an occasional Tylenol, but the hard core pain killers sit unused. With help of some physical therapy prescribed by Dr. Michaud—possible because of the pain reduction-I have regained some range of motion and strength although certainly not to pre-arthritic levels. Dr. Michaud has a delightful, engaging personality and she will take whatever time is needed. If you are seeking non-surgical alternatives, I strongly recommend that you schedule a consultation with her at Motus. She will not mislead you, her fees as compared to others in the field are very reasonable, and you may well experience a very positive outcome similar to mine.

She has answered every question I have asked. She and her staff are very professional and accommodating. They are also always on time and show me that they value me as a patient. You will be very pleased with your results when working with Dr. Leslie Michaud, and her staff. I researched the number of options that I had to repair my knees which lost cartilage and meniscus wear over the years. Surgeons told me that they can help with pain management or knee replacement when the pain becomes too much. I am too young, 60 year old, to have major surgery or not do what I love. Run, jump, golf, swim, etc. I went to a number of doctors that practice stem cell treatment and one stood out above all others. That is Dr. Michaud. You will not find anyone in KC, that has the experience, expertise at a reasonable rate. If you have pain in any of your joints, talk with Dr Michaud and what her treatment can do for you. Stem Cell treatment will be common practice in years to come. Right now, go with the best, the one that has 15 years of successful data on making a difference in people’s active life’s. Where do I begin? Dr Leslie Michaud, Kelsey and the whole team are incredible!!!!! I was in pain for months and now I can see noticeable improvements. I would do it again in a Heart Beat.
I asked to have several of her business cards so I can hand them out. Ask yourself why would you want to be flayed like a fish for surgery, when you can heal yourself with only a few injections.. This is the greatest improvement in medicine in years.
My mother had knee surgery a few years ago and she said it was never right. Motus means movement and that is what I am able to do again, move.
