Dr. Paul A Engelman, DO

My 84 year old dad fell and had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance at 5 pm on November 24th, 2009. They took him to Memorial. As soon as I arrived in town I called Engelman's office. Got an answering machine!! No alternative # and it evidentially does not page him for emergencies. My dad broke the bridge of his nose and had two lacerations on his forehead requiring 15 stitches.



Engelman's front office lady told my dad they would and could not work him in the next day. His office manager, which also happens to be his wife, told them that they would not see my dad. They were upset that he did not go to Southwest which happens to be the only hospital in Lawton that Engelman practices at. hmmmm The office was closing at noon because the Engelman family was off to Colorado for a trip. That's wonderful I don't begrudge anyone a vacation but with a severe head injury you should fit a patient in.



My dad has been feeling bad for over a year and Engelman never ran a full blood work up on him or do complete physical as a new patient.



Shame shame on you Engelman and your office. To quote a piece of the Hippocratic Oath that you swore to when you became a doctor "I will prescribe regimens for the good of my patients according to my ability and my judgment and never do harm to anyone." "According to my ability and my judgment" Well Mr. your ability and certainly your judgment are lacking.



Maybe you should switch to Veterinarian practice. Oh wait I have two dogs and I would not use your services, I value my dogs.
