Brachioplasty, often referred to as an arm lift, upper arm lift, arm tightening or arm rejuvenation, is rising in popularity throughout the country. More men and women are seeing the affect that being overweight has on their body and life and are changing their lifestyles by changing their exercise and diet patterns to achieve weight loss. After weight loss, many people feel much better about their new healthy lifestyle, however, some complain of the insecurities of not being able to show off their new silhouettes with certain clothing due to excess residual skin that is hanging off of their arms, sometimes referred to as a “bat wing”. Brachioplasty is performed to correct the excess hanging skin of the upper arm area. The surgery entails the creation of a long incision extending from the axilla (armpit) to the elbow, and is aimed to be hidden when the arms are down. Pediatric Care
Courtney is our RN here at Dr. Bandy’s office. Some of you may know her as our nurse injector. She came to Dr. Bandy’s office after working as an LVN in pediatrics and being in the Air Force reserves. Courtney has always had a passion for aesthetics and enjoys helping people find their version of beautiful. Her fun and inviting personality puts our patient’s nerves at ease during their surgical recovery and during their medspa services. Family Practice
A: As with any surgical procedure, liposuction carries risks. With our patients’ safety being our number one priority, Dr. Bandy strictly adheres to recommendations placed by the American Board of Plastic Surgery stating that 5 liters should be the maximum amount of aspirate (fluid, fat and blood) that is removed during any liposuction procedure. Patients requesting a total volume reduction of greater than 5 liters would need to have a second liposuction procedure to accommodate their requests. Prior to a procedure, a patient answers a thorough health and family health history questionnaire to determine if a patient is more at risk for certain post surgical complications such as blood clotting. Patient blood samples are also sent to pathology for certain testing to determine if the patient can sustain a procedure like liposuction. All precautions are taken to ensure that the patient have a pleasant experience with the best results possible.

Ultrasound
HIFU is a non-surgical method to lift and tighten the skin of the face and neck using high-intensity focused ultrasound therapy. The ultrasound targets different depths of the skin, working to tighten the different skin layers to produce optimal results.
Chemotherapy
Typically, breast reconstruction for a breast cancer patient may have higher risk of complications and infection, because the cancer patient might have their immune system compromised and not be as healthy. The patient may or may not be undergoing chemotherapy and they are typically an older patient.

Minimally Invasive Surgery
Fat transfer to the breasts requires a multi-step approach that combines liposuction, fat purification, and fat injections. This minimally invasive surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure; however, additional touch-up treatments may be desired. Liposuction

Breast Lift
Some women decide that they would like to remove their breast implants and not have them replaced (medically referred to as “ breast explant ”). In many instances, this would leave them with breasts that have no volume and have significant drooping. Rhinoplasty
Rhinoplasty is recommended for anybody looking to improve the cosmetic nature of their nose. Typically, rhinoplasty for cosmetic reasons is not recommended for young ladies or young men before the age of sixteen (16), because you can continue to develop more bone and cartilage as you age. Therefore, people between the ages of sixteen (16) to eighteen (18) would be the youngest that would be recommended for considering rhinoplasty. Septoplasty, on the other hand, is indicated for dysfunction of the nasal septum cartilage and/or bone that separates the two nasal vaults (right side from the left side) and contributes to breathing difficulties. Such dysfunction can create breathing difficulties and sinus problems. Septoplasty can be performed at an earlier age if severe enough and if medically indicated. However, if it is a mild dysfunction, it is recommended that you wait until you are sixteen (16) years old.
Breast Reconstruction
Yes, general anesthesia will be administered for breast reconstruction surgery. Depending on the procedure, it can be from 1 hour to 8 hours.
Plastic Surgery
Stephanie is our Surgical Tech. She has always been in love with Plastic Surgery since the Television Show Dr. 90210. When first hearing that she was given the opportunity to work for a plastic surgeon she was extremely overjoyed. As time went on, she felt truly lucky to be a team member at Dr. Bandy’s Practice; working with everyone felt like family. Other than being in the operating room, Stephanie’s favorite part of patient care is seeing how grateful the patients are from the beginning of their surgical journey, until the end. In her free time, she loves to watch movies, do arts and crafts, or reorganize pretty much anything; but most of all she loves to cuddle with her English Bulldog. Family and friends are always number one in Stephanie’s life; as they are the foundation who made her the loving caring person she is today.
Face Lift
Facelift surgery is recommended for anyone who sees signs of aging such as jowling or a “loose neck”. Further, anyone who is starting to get wrinkles and notices deep nasolabial folds would be a good candidate for a facelift procedure. The facelift procedure can be performed on patients of any age and if they are seeing facial aging that is bothering them. Patients as young as 30 years old have had the procedure and have been very happy with the outcome. There is no age cutoff for facelifts. Rather, the facelift procedure depends on risk factors from a health stand point of view; such discussions should be between the patient and their primary physician and plastic surgeon.
Neck Lift
HIFU is intended for individuals with skin laxity, or anyone who is looking to achieve skin tightening. HIFU can renew mild to moderate sagging skin, as well as create lifting of the brow to aid in improving openness of heavy eyelids. Keep in mind, however, that HIFU is not an alternative to a traditional facelift, and therefore patients with a greater degree of skin laxity may be better suited towards a surgical face and/or neck lift.
Blepharoplasty
Drooping upper eyelids and puffy bags under the eyes cause someone to look tired and aged. Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid correction, is a procedure that can correct this problem and give your eyes a new look. During the procedure excess skin, muscle and fat are removed, as necessary, to create a refreshed appearance. Abdominoplasty
The incision is similar to that of a C-Section however, depending on the extent of tissue that is removed, the incision can range in size with a hip to hip incision being the longest. Usually for women that have already had a C-Section, the previous c-section marking can be used for the abdominoplasty incision as well to prevent additional scarring. A scar resulting from an abdominoplasty can easily be hidden under a panty or bikini line as well as for men, hidden under briefs or shorts. With proper post-operative care a scar from a previous abdominoplasty incision can be thin, even and unnoticeable in many outfits and swimwear.
Nose Surgery
A Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery/Nose Job) is a procedure to beautify the nose, correct breathing problems, or both. Breathing problems, snoring, and sinus problems are often improved by straightening the nose. Breast Surgery
Each and every patient is different and their idea of what is ideal will vary. An ideal result generally is a round areola that is centered on the breast mound. Results can be seen immediately following the surgery, however as with any breast surgery, the tissues will stretch & settle over several months, resulting in the final and most appealing outcome.
Otoplasty
Otoplasty is an operation done to correct protruding ears. It is one of the few cosmetic operations performed on children. Although the operation is done on both men and women, it has great appeal for men, because many of them wear their hair short and cannot conceal the ear deformity. Scar Revision
Scar revision is a general term relating to a procedure that can be performed to improve the visibility of a scar. Generally, patients that come to Dr. Bandy for a scar revision procedure or treatment are patients that have a pre-existing scar that they are unsatisfied with the length, look, color, thickness or the overall way that the scar has healed.
Lip Augmentation
A: The most common procedures performed along with facelift surgery are upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty, browlift, lip augmentation, botox, fillers, fat transfers, and/or facial implants (cheek or chin implants).
Body Contouring
Dr. Bandy was also trained in the most refined techniques of tumescent liposculpture and body contouring. Additionally, she trained in Louisville, Kentucky where she practiced the intricate techniques of microsurgery and its applications in reconstructive surgery. She now practices all aspects of Plastic Surgery in Newport Beach.
Laser Resurfacing
Fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing is the newest technology to combat wrinkles, loose skin, pigmentation unevenness, scarring, and sun damage. By combining the effectiveness of Carbon Dioxide laser resurfacing, long known to be the Platinum Standard in wrinkle removal, with an innovative “quadrant” fractional technology and a more tightly focused beam, the MiXto SX laser delivers precise tissue ablation to the skin causing immediate contraction and tissue tightening. The effects are the production of new collagen over the next 6-12 weeks that builds strength in the skin, minimizes wrinkles and removes pigment irregularities. This technology delivers powerful results without the harsh side effects and downtime of traditional CO2 resurfacing. For deeper wrinkles and more severe sun damage, this laser can be utilized in alternative mode, where the traditional CO2 effects are produced and more opt to produced the desired results.
Gynecomastia
After undergoing the gynecomastia procedure some discomfort will be experienced. Pain medication will be provided to patients in order to minimize discomfort.

Facial Implants
A: Facelift surgery takes approximately three hours. If additional procedures are done at the same time, the surgery will take up to five to six hours. Eyelids surgery, fat transfer, and facial implants are commonly requested procedures that are performed in addition to facelift.
Chin Augmentation
It is recommended to have a consultation with Dr. Bandy in order to determine what type of chin augmentation is recommended to achieve the desired goal. During this consultation, a quote will be provided.

Acne Treatment
Acne is one of the skin challenges in life that does not discriminate! Whether as a teen or adult, male or female or even those with good genetics, acne seems to seek out and wreak havoc on skin. Some people might be blessed enough to experience acne only during changes in hormones (puberty and pregnancy), while others may experience a lifetime battling cystic acne and severe acne that can cover large portions of the face, chest, or upper back, can be painful or red, and can even leave long term scarring and indentations. Lesions
A: The HIFU treatment is contraindicated in patients with active or open lesions in the treatment area, patients with pacemakers or defibrillators, or those with metallic implants in the treatment area. Furthermore, the treatment has not been evaluated in patients who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Chemical Peels
A: Hydrating Facial is not recommended if you are pregnant or breast feeding, if you have had a recent light or laser treatment, chemical peel, facial waxing, facial steroid injection, surgical procedure or skin infection, sun burn or recent changes in moles or growths in the treatment area. If you have an active or unstable medical condition such as a seizure disorder, cancer, autoimmune disease or uncontrolled diabetes then treatment should be deferred. If you have a history of cold sores, let us know and an anti-viral medication may be prescribed by the physician at your consult. You may notice increased bruising if you are on aspirin or other blood thinners. Recent Retin-A or retinoid use may make your skin more sensitive and red.
Skin Care
To start, it is imperative for anyone either suffering from acne, or trying to prevent it to adopt a good skin care regimen. During your consultation, Dr. Bandy will assess your skin in order to determine what type of acne is present and what type of treatment will be most effective. The office carries numerous skin care lines, as well as Dr. Bandy’s personal formulation of skincare products, in order to offer different options depending on a patient’s skin. Many of the acne products recommended are formulated specifically for skin prone to acne breakouts and may include ingredients such as: Benzyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acids or Sulfur. These main ingredients are available in a variety of strengths, with the strongest of the ingredients being present in products available at physician’s offices or as prescription medications. Products specially formulated to treat acne do so in a variety of ways, including antibiotics that kill the bacteria that can cause acne inflammation, removing excess oils from the skin, accelerating the growth of new skin cells and/or removing present dead skin cells that can help to clog pores and create an acne inflammatory response.
Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion is an exfoliation treatment using micro-crystals. Regular controlled exfoliation via microdermabrasion, thus removing older, dead skin cells. The result is improvements in the appearance of the outermost skin layer, the Stratum Corneum. This repeated exfoliation stimulates the production of a new layer of skin cells, bringing with it an increased level of collagen and elastin, improving the skin’s appearance, and producing healthier, more radiant skin.
