Dr. Stehlik is a current member and former board member of the Texas Optometric Association. She has received a number of service awards from the TOA, the most memorable being the Mollie Armstrong Public Service award in 2009. She is also a member of the American Optometric Association. Dr. Stehlik is licensed by the Texas Optometry Board as a Therapeutic Optometrist and an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist.
Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is a retinal disease that causes progressive central vision loss in adults, typically over the age of 50. It remains the leading cause of vision loss in older adults.
Laser Eye Surgery
LASIK surgery is a nice alternative to glasses or contact lenses. It is an elective procedure that utilizes a laser to remove microscopic portions of the cornea to reshape its surface for the purpose of correcting near-sightedness, far-sightedness, and/or astigmatism. The procedure is performed quickly and painlessly, and typically, vision correction is noticed immediately.

Haag-Streit Our Haag-Streit anterior segment camera allows us to document and follow trauma or disease at the surface and anterior structures of the eye. The doctors can follow the size of a corneal ulcer as it heals, monitor a freckle on the iris for change, or document damage from contact lenses. Both doctors believe that a photograph also holds tremendous value for patient education as it is able to present a large amount of information in a quick, easy-to-understand visual.
