Consultation Appointments are done by Dr. Hartelius DVM. Training & Behavior Modification Appointment are done by Kimberly Wilson LVT. She has been working in animal behavior for 40 years with various species. She is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Certified Dog Behavior Consultant, Certified Horse Behavior Consultant, and a CEVA Behavior Advocate. Kim is pursuing a specialization in Veterinary Behavior.
Comprehensive Examination
We provide physical examinations, vaccinations, and vaccine titers according to your pet’s lifestyle to keep them happy and healthy. For those of you with a new pet we also offer kitten and puppy packages which include the basics for a new young pet (exams, vaccines, parasite screening, etc.) at a discounted rate. The receptionists can give you more details as to pricing and exactly what each package includes.

There are many conditions that benefit from laser therapy. A few include anal gland inflammation, arthritis, degenerative joint disease, dental disease – stomatitis, ear infections/hematomas, hot spots, intervertebral disc disease, lick granulomas, muscle trauma, post-surgical healing and pain relief.

We offer an array of in house pharmaceuticals to provide immediate medications to treat or help manage any illness or diseases your pet may have. As we appreciate you keeping your business local with us, for any medications that require special compounding, we use local pharmacies for your pet’s personal needs. Many times we can have those medications shipped directly to you or picked up from our office. We also offer basic monthly preventatives to control flea and heartworm in your pets, nutricuticals to help with joint pain, hormone replacement therapies, and diabetes management. Our prices are highly competitive, if not less expensive, than many other retailers. Please call us to inquire about a specific medication.

Here at RV Vets our services include both routine preventative and advanced veterinary medical and surgical care for your animal companion. We use a blend of traditional and alternative means, including advanced laboratory, radiographic, and ultrasound diagnostics, acupuncture, chiropractic, herbal/nutritional therapy and, soon to be added, canine rehabilitation medicine.
Small Animal Surgery
Dr. Laux currently resides in Stone Ridge with her husband and two children. She graduated Cornell University of Medicine in 2010 and has been practicing large and small animal medicine since. She is currently working at Rondout Valley Vets focusing on small animal surgery. In the time that she has been in practice she has become proficient in routine care, diagnostics, medical treatments, preventative health care, and with basic and advanced surgical procedures. In her free time she enjoys riding horses, running, and spending time with her family.

Laboratory Services
Rondout Valley Vets has a full surgical suite and dental area. We perform basic spays and neuters, teeth cleanings, including dental extractions, as well as more complex surgical procedures. We require that all pets have pre-operative blood work done before any anesthetic procedure.

General Pet Care

Boarding
We understand it is never easy to leave your pets at home while you are away. Therefore, we do everything we can to make the stay away from home as pleasant as possible. Our boarding room has a large picture window overlooking the valley so we pride ourselves on having the best feline boarding view of the entire Hudson Valley!
