Took our mower into Scott's, told it will be done in a week, never got a call and it was done a month later. We mowed the lawn twice and it broke down again. Of course he said it wasn't the same problem, so now it will be $300 total. If I had any idea it would cost that much I would've gotten a new mower.

bad service

I took a rider in to get worked in and had horrible service. Very bad customer service. Does not treat people with respect and was yelled at and was called a liar because I told him I would come pick it up during the week. But yet he was closed. But he lied to me saying he was open and that im making excuses. Just a horrible experience.

To any of you "riding/push mow...

To any of you "riding/push mower people who might be in need of repair" read on...this is what happened to me. Our rider is a Toro and the steering stopped steering so we had to find someone to fix it (our fav peeps Woo. Saw shop, don't fix Toro). Looking in the phone book we a place in Kelso "Scott Stone's Mower..." that fixed Toros so in we went to drop it off..."the belt needs replaced, @$150ish, ready by frid..." OK. Fri comes, no call so I called them..."the part is not in should be here by Tues and ready by Wed.." sigh OK. Tues I get a call at wk saying its ready, what was the final bill...$566.00!!!!! What!!!without a call to confirm we wanted to invest that much in our mower...Scott said $150..."He shouldnt have said that.." but he did..."you wanted the steering fixed didnt you???" Not happy, I'll call later when Im not at wk. Called 2 x, LM, and finally went in Wed afternoon...shop was open and Scott's wife comes out very hostile, loud, and aggressive...I would like to talk about the repair and my bill..."you wanted it fixed...you said fix the steering...u really didnt think it wud only be $150...well if you dont want to pay we will just keep ur mower!!!!!" in between her comments im saying things like I was quoted...I wud have liked to have a phone call to authorized spending of my $400...we deserved a consult....if you went to the shop to have car fixed and was quoted $$$ you wud want to be called if it was much over....each time she is amped up and loud, forceful and aggressive. My youngest is standing at my side having a real prob w how his mom is being treated (fists were clenching)...then she says to Scott, "i cant deal w her!!!! Im done!!!" I say, you really need to take it down a notch...(unlike several comments that were running thru my mind in relation to sedatives) and she shakes her finger at me "dont you talk to me that way!!!!" Scott steps in, sorry I shud have called, lesson learned, it was not just one belt like I thot, it was 2 and the steering geer, and takes the bill down below 500 (Whoopdydoo ugh!!!)... no debit machine, checks or cash only, sigh...now I have to return to this hostile environ...dad comes, wife is absent, we pick up my mower, I pay and leave...Scott was pleasant, wife was NOT!!!! Mower is fixed and all my friends and family know about my experience and know that I will never return to Scott Stones Lawnmower in Kelso, WA...i will buy a new mower before I return there AND for future services, i will get a quote in writing for a specific amt and a required call for over or I will not be responsible for the extra amt. BTW mower does steer now and I do not have an issue paying for services due, I just want to be consulted when u want to spend $400 over the quoted amt...
