they treated my dog like you would a rat due to her being own by a black person they made her aggressive she doesn't like people in general she tires to attack white people now she barks at them 0/10 recommend this place they told me that she would be in good hands she wasn't this is the message i sent when i got home
“We will NOT be return to the program due to Maybach having a tick bite and fleas on her belly I took pictures of her this morning prior to her training and after today and it 100% came from your Center and i would like a refund and i will be leaving a review about our experience and i am more than upset that this has happen” they reply with the wavier i sign telling me i couldn't sue they don't care about the animals they do it strict for the money.

Fantastic experience for our 6th month lab and 6.5 year old german shepherd. Duffy's was highly recommended and we were thrilled with the experience and product that resulted with both pups training (full program for the lab and day school for the shepherd). Again - can't recommend Duffy's enough!

I couldn't be more pleased with the training my basset hound and I have received from Duffy's! Their expertise has guided us in a very professional way. Morgan is a big strong boy, very strong willed and VERY friendly. In other words, stubborn and not easy to train! He is one point away from his Championship now, and I certainly couldn't have done it without them!

Working with Duffy's Dog Training has been a pleasure. Eight years ago, I sent my standard poodle for training. After her course, she was the most well behaved dog and with great manners. Currently, I am currently sending my toy poodle and labradoodle for training. They are making great progress and are quickly becoming more in control of themselves and able to stay calm in distracting situations. The entire staff is great to work with and really cares about the well being of the dogs. Highly recommend.

I adopted two border collie mixes last summer. They were your typical puppies until we took them to the park for the first time a week after we got them. They were terrified of other dogs and refused to walk past them. As they got older this fear turned into aggression. One of my dogs ended up attacking another dog in our yard and that was when we realized how serious it was and we took them to Duffy's. I chose Duffy's because out of all the other trainers I looked at, they seemed to be the ones who know most of what they were doing. They are able to make an uncontrollable dog controllable. My two dogs have resource guarding and dog aggression. Over the training period that they were at Duffy's, my dogs learned how to behave around other dogs and I also learned how to control them. My two dogs will always have dog aggression and resource guarding but it is now controllable.

I have known of Duffy's Dog Training since 1990, Matt trained my first German Shepherd Dog at that time. Matt's training along with his instruction to us and the continued work we did at home with our GSD made for a very well behaved member of the family for his entire life. The principles I was taught have helped me with each of the other GSD's I have had. Over the years I have also referred many friends and co-workers to Duffy's and they have all graduated with well-behaved fur family members.

If you are looking for a training program for your fur family member I would encourage you to check out Duffy's Dog Training Center. They are experienced in dealing with all types of dog personalities and can help with training as well as any specific issues you’re experiencing or might experience. The facility is very clean and roomy; there is also a large outdoor area with agility obstacles that are incorporated in helping your dog gain confidence. Your dog will be trained by multiple trainers and around other animals during training, thus becoming a well behaved pet in environments outside of home and learning to pay attention to your cues instead of distractions. The trainers are all very knowledgeable and truly have a love for dogs. Their approach to training does involve correction but there is much more praise, pets and food rewards used then there is correction. The correction is just that, it is not punishment; there is no striking of the animal or scolding in anyway. The entire process is based on keeping everything as a positive experience for the dog and handler, even if a correction is needed. To get the most from your training experience you have to be willing to do the work, yes that means continuing to work with your dog outside of his/her 12 days of school and your individual lessons, on a daily basis. If you do the work, you will be satisfied with the results both you and your fur family member achieve.

In November of this year I adopted Argus from Tierhaven Rescue, he is a young male approximately 15 months of age that was picked up as a stray. He is definitely puppy and one of the biggest goof ball personalities I have come across. Within 24 hours of having Argus at home I realized he was extremely intelligent and has great potential to be more than just a well behaved family member. I contacted Duffy's for an evaluation and Argus started school that week. He has completed his 12 days of school and I have had 2 of my 7 lessons. My lessons will continue every other week for 2 more months. Between lessons Argus and I practice the skills I am taught and he has already learned in his 12 days, with each lesson expanding on the earlier ones. We spend 15-30 minutes at least twice a day doing our " homework", we incorporate the hands free commands in normal activities such as our walks and random times around the house. He has already learned so much and I know with continued work at home he will continue to improve and amaze me. Argus likes going to school, enjoys the work and likes the trainers he works with and yes he still has his goofball personality. With the help of the trainers at Duffy's Argus and I are well on our way to obtaining his Canine Good Citizen Certificate and then we will work on his therapy dog certificate to be able to visit in local nursing homes etc. We will keep you posted on our progress.

Best training EVER, We are on our 3rd dog taking them to Duffy's and Matt & his wonderful staff are by far the best! I wouldn't dream of taking our dogs anywhere else. The time and effort that they put into training your dog, and you is worth every cent. We have three, yes 3 German shepherds (3rd being trained now is our daughters) and they are very stubborn to say the least. within 2 days they had stopped the unwanted behavior of jumping and barking and instilled good manners in him. It was night and day the difference!! He actually looks forward to going to "puppy school" and we can not wait for him to "graduate" They are just awesome there, don't waste your time or money going to pet smart or other places, do it right the 1st time, come here for a happy well behaved dog.

I never realized how happy it would make my dog to 'play' training. She shows both obedience and affection for the trainers and I know she's enjoying making good decisions. Dogs just need to know what we want them to do and they're 'winning' when they're praised by staff members for their good decisions. Hopefully, gone are the days of screaming over the barking, running interference at the front door and begging her to walk somewhere near me. The family training that goes along with the full package is (for me) probably the most important component. I've been notorious at chuckling when our dogs do things they really shouldn't and have always hated correcting with a collar. My bad! She's happier with consistency. Thanks, Duffy's!

Some years ago I brought my boxer, Timothy, for training. I so loved the training. Timothy did will. I believe all the training was worth the money as I became closer and closer to my dog. Sincerely grateful to Matt

My dog loves his training at Duffy's Dog Training Center. Every time I drive into the industrial park where the training center is located he starts wagging his tail. When I park and we exit my truck he knows we're there to work and he does so eagerly. I feel like we both have learned a lot from Mr. Duffy and we've enjoyed every minute of it.

We are very pleased with the training that Duffy's dog Center has provided. The trainers are professional and the facility clean. We could not be happier with the training. We have a better relationship with our dog and seen results day two!

I've suggested this place to so many of my friends with dogs whom are difficult to control. I appreciate the fact they don't taut they can fix your dog, and need your help with training at home. But, through lessons, daycare, and at-home work, they've helped my boarder collie mix to become more polite and well-mannered.



They've also helped me understand him. These guys know their animal psychology and are patient teachers to aid you in learning about the how the canine mind functions.



I've owned a few dogs, and have been to a few types of trainers. Duffy's has been the best by far.

My experience at Duffy's was great! Earlier this week I brought my 4? year old rescue mixed breed, Zoe, in for help with walking. First we had a free consultation with and then an hour private training session. It was great! Tyler and David (who I worked with) explained everything very clearly. They showed me how to properly use leash correction in order to help communicate with my dog. The results were amazing! She immediately started walking properly, as they said she was a pretty manageable dog to work with, once I knew what I was doing!

Excellent dog training center!! We were amazed at how well our staffordshire terrior responded to training at Duffy's. He learned quickly and is always excited when we arrive at Duffy's. All the staff are very knowledgeable and will answer any questions. They are very patient with owners that don't learn as quickly as their dogs do!

We have a 41/2 month old German Shepherd puppy that was play biting to the point I couldn't touch him without being biten. After two short weeks he is the sweet,loving puppy I always dreamed of. They taught him some self control and taught me how to be in charge. Not yet 5 months old and walking on a loose leash, following simple commands such as sit,come,down and stay. The transformation has been amazing.Looking forward to more advanced training as he grows.

My husband ran into David at Smoothie King in Louisville and in the course of conversation mentioned our 2&1/2 year old mini pig, Gipper.

Although Gipper is a sweet pig, he (like most pigs) can be extremely inquisitive, willful, stubborn and uncooperative. (Imagine a determined toddler lol)

After just ONE SESSION with David I'm ecstatic to say that Gipper came straight home and not only happily walked beside me on a LOOSE LEASH, but he even patiently waited for me to command him to walk inside AND waited by his water bowl until I told him he could go ahead. Amazing!!!

I am floored by their "no nonsense" approach to not only training the animal but also going the extra mile to make sure us humans develop the necessary skills to take what is learned home and implemented into daily family life. We can't wait for Gipper to start regular classes with David.

As mini pig owners we have a responsibility to not only these little "pets for life" but to the community as well to make sure people interested in having their own little oinker understand the profound difference between a puppy and a mini piggy. Pigs are complex little creatures and having the blessing of Duffys where such rare little guys can be trained as easily as the family dog by such competent, compassionate caring trainers is such a great asset to the Louisville/Southern Indiana area.

I adopted a very resilient and active German Shepherd puppy. After years of experience with Dobermans, Rottweilers, Australian Shepherds and various mixed breeds I knew I had my hands full with this one. Raising a puppy from a wheelchair for the first time, I decided to revisit an established Obedience School in Louisville, Kentucky, to sharpen my skills and socialize my dog. I have learned basic obedience skills from attending classes there off & on over the years. It’s taught in a class setting only and they don’t have much time to work on individual behavioral issues with your dog.

Needing professional advice to address some potentially disastrous behaviors my dog exhibited, I was reminded of Duffy’s Dog Training Center after viewing a news spot featuring Matt Duffy. Being familiar with his in good standing reputation, I decided to contact him. He scheduled a consultation with my dog and I, where he explained his training philosophy, the importance of owner’s cooperation and consistency for successful results.

My assigned professional trainer, Tyler, has addressed the behavioral issues I had with my dog and corrected the unintentional things I was doing that contributed to negative behaviors. He has provided me with the skills necessary to resolve my dog’s unacceptable behaviors and how to maintain the success we’ve achieved. In the end, it’s up to me to utilize what I’ve learned for a well mannered and obedient dog. Like me, most clients and their dogs are trained together with one on one sessions. This trains not only the dog, but the most importantly the owner who will then have those skills to utilize for a lifetime. Duffy’s offers other training opportunities that will accommodate individual dogs and their owners’ needs. Thanks to Duffy's and my trainer Tyler, my young dog and I are living a more harmonious life together in which we have and will continue to improve!

We bought a German Shepherd puppy and wanted her to be a good house-dog for 4 children. We heard good things about Duffy's and took her there. Our goal was to have an obedient Shepherd while keeping her personality. And that's exactly what Duffy and his team delivered to us. They worked with this great dog and us, the family. We did the package where Rokzie went 3 days/week for several weeks. She was pretty tired by the time we brought her home each night she went to 'school'.

We have taken her back from time-to-time to get refreshed on her manners. She actually loves going as I think it appeals to her need for structure.

Duffy's has been truly wonderful for Rokzie and our entire family!
