Ultrasound
Ovulation Induction (OI) is where you take medication to trigger your ovaries produce a few eggs. This is useful if a woman doesn’t ovulate regularly. The ovaries are carefully monitored by ultrasound and lab work. Once the eggs are mature and ready to ovulate, you can either have timed intercourse or have an IUI performed.

We offer sperm cryopreservation for patients in many different circumstances. The samples are frozen in liquid nitrogen (-196° C) and stored on-site in our lab. Sperm can be frozen before IVF treatment if the male partner will be out of town for the egg retrieval, or if he has a male factor contributing to the couple’s infertility. Samples can also be frozen if they are obtained through PESA or TESA. This allows the patient to go through another cycle without the cost of another PESA/TESA. We also offer semen cryopreservation and storage for patients undergoing chemotherapy – please call the office for more details.

Laparoscopy
A hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is a diagnostic procedure that uses an x-ray to view the uterus and fallopian tubes. It will show the uterine cavity filled with dye and any defects like fibroids, polyps, septae, or scar tissue will be visible. It will also show if the fallopian tubes are open or closed. If a patient has dilated fallopian tubes, the chances to get pregnant with IVF go down. The tubes may have to be excised through laparoscopy.
