Operational since 1994, United Water is one of the largest water service companies in the United States. It operates, maintains and manages a stormwater collection system and wastewater treatment facilities, as well as the Eagle Creek Dam in Indianapolis. The company provides laboratory, industrial pretreatment monitoring and program management services. United Water serves more than 800,000 residents and over 41,000 businesses. It supports the Indiana Water Environment Association and the National Association of Clean Water Agencies. The company has a staff of nearly 2,600 employees and maintains various industrial and municipal partnerships. United Water serves the food, paper, chemical, metal, petroleum refining and related industries. It has received the Project Recognition Award from the National Council for Public-Private Partnerships. The company s contract services include water tank management through an affiliate, Utility Service Company, which owns more than 4,000 water storage tanks under long-term service agreements with over 2,000 clients. United Water operates a treatment plant in California for the recycling of wastewater for irrigation and industrial applications. It is a subsidiary of the SUEZ ENVIRONNEMENT division of SUEZ Group.
