Northwest High School, also known as NHS, provides several learning opportunities for more than 1,585 students in grades 9 through 12. The school offers various sports activities, such as football, basketball, volleyball, baseball and softball. It operates a media center and provides membership options in the National Honor Society. The school also has a guidance counseling department and cafeteria. Northwest High School s academic curriculum includes music, art, math, science, social studies, English, physical education and business management. It administers the Middle Years Program (MYP), which provides academic and life skills development services for students between the ages of 14 and 16. Northwest High School is a part of Indianapolis Public Schools, which serves students in kindergarten through grade 12. The district manages several elementary, middle and high schools.
