        American Mattress was founded in 1988. Two co-workers from a local family owned mattress company became disheartened after the business was sold to a major corporation.The family owned culture quickly disappeared. Treating customers and employees like family was replaced by big corporate policies. The two friends decided to strike out on their own and create a company with a locally owned culture of friendships and treating every customer like family. The sleep industry had changed over the past 30 years, but the American Mattress brand has never wavered from its original beginnings and remains a symbol for unmatched customer service and the highest quality product offerings.

        What a great experience! A Family Owned and operated company with excellent customer service. Store manager, Jeremiah was patient with my handicapped father who was slow in trying out the different mattresses in the showroom. Once he chose the right comfort and feel, the manager helped set up a three hour delivery window, including a call ahead. Delivery staff was awesome and gave us time to clean under the bed before installing my father's new adjustable bed and mattress. Thanks again American Mattress. We will refer our family and friends to your Castleton location !

        Fantastic company! The manager, Brad was so nice and helpful. He took the time to select our perfect mattress. The price was amazing. American Mattress was $300.00 less than Kittles on the same set. I could not believe it. I loved the fact that they are family owned and operated. That means a lot to me. They do not work on commission, so this was a very enjoyable and pressure free purchase. I will send Brad all kinds of business because of his great character and clean store.
