Sermon Service and Electric

I've used Sermons to do some plumbing work and they have also worked on my furnace. Would use them again.

Awesome company. Have used them time and time again.

They did more work than was asked of them and charged over twice what the job required. Very pleasant refrig man (doesn't work there anymore) had to be on the phone constantly with a real service guy to eventually get the work done, much of it wrong. It eventually required repair by another company at considerable cost to get things running. The owner is much like a used car salesman, with similar ethics. WATCH OUT and find another company!!!

Sermons has done eletrical panel upgrades, replaced 40 year old furnace in root cellar and replaced a water heater. They have always treated me fair.

While I thought they did a nice job installing a ductless heat pump which cost me 5K, I had the electricity go out in my bathroom about 4 months later. Sermon showed up with two guys, took them 3 hours to find that a GFI burned up in my garage. They replaced the GFI outlet and was charged $500.00They charge $130/hr for a journeyman and apprentice who didn't seem to know anything......You can bet I'll use another electrician next time!

Sermon istalled my furnace in summer 2010. Insallation was horrible. Never heard so much profanity and slamming in all my life. Installation was extremely unprofessional. Within 12 hours if installation my water softener, which sits right next to my furnace and water heater sprung a leak due to a lose hose which im sure was knocked loose because of the slamming. As winter set in it was apparent the furnace did not work correctly as it would not light every time. Called, they said to change thermostat battery. Called again they said to change the filter. Had them come out to look at it, said it was fine. Obviously my expectations are a bit higher than theirs. I like a furnace to light a blow warm air. That was a quick 100.00 for nothing. Had them come out again, because it was still not lighting. They said its a problem with the propane line propane company checked it and said it was fine. Still not lighting but I refuse to pay them another service call for nothing. Called another heating company who discovered when it was installed it was not up to code. Not enough space between the exhaust and the ground as well as an incorrect angle and direction of the exhaust causing it to not light. It should have been done right the first time. Having to pay 300.00 to have a furnace installation revamp indicates very poor work in my book.

I had an air conditioner that was not working called Sermon they came out told me a coil was bad and then wanted 3200 to fix it. I had some suspesion that this was just wrong so I called Alpine heating and Air they came out and fixed the Problem for 350 Then Seermon has the gall to send me a bill for 69 dollars for the service call. I will never use or reccommend Sermon Ever.
