February 16th, I treated three of my elderly friends to a delicious meal at this elegant restaurant. I know it is not a place where they get to go often if at all. The best steaks and seafood ever. No one fixes a steak better than this Outback. The service, the meal was wonderful. I wanted this to be a special event and it was. This is truly a wonderful place to celebrate life. The manager made us all feel like queens. God bless the staff and all those who make this place so special

My wife says I'm being kind giving this Outback a 2-star. She says it only deserves 1-star. Ate there tonight as a family of four. My wife and daughter had the chicken noodle soup and it was good. The crab cakes were also very good. Now the low-lights... the rest of the food. One daughter ordered the Golden Heart Mahi, but she couldn't eat it. The fish tasted like it had been frozen and had a fishy smell. Rather than being flaky, it was chewy and fibrous like poor quality frozen fish can be. The sauce only made it worse. 2nd daughter had the pork tenderloin medallions. They were dry and tough. She barely ate one of them out of the whole plate and just ate the green beans instead. Wife had the 12-oz Ribeye. It was overcooked (supposed to be M.R.) and no marbling to it, so it was tough. Her mashed potatoes tasted like too much garlic. She ate a little of the steak, but we brought the rest home for the dog. I had the Outback Special 11-oz sirloin with cocoanut shrimp & loaded baked potato. The sirloin was tough, but I ate it anyway. I've eaten worse steaks, but this one didn't rate above edible. The cocoanut shrimp was actually good and I recommend it. The baked potato was sort of dense. It's funny, but I can microwave a better baked potato than that. How did they get it to be dense and pasty rather than being light & fluffy like potatoes should be? We've had decent food at this Outback before, but this time it was way below par. The wait staff was OK, but it didn't make up for the bad food. My kids left there saying "never again". There are far better places in Humble, Tx for the same money... so we probably won't be back. Sad... because Outback used to be good. Something happened, but not for the better. Now that I think back, I should remove one of those 2-stars.

Great Food, Enjoyable Outback Service

Outback Restaurants are typically good. This location is no exception. The staff is friendly, service is prompt and spot-on, management talks to customers... basically they have a nice restaurant. Decor is typical Aussie shabby-chic with lots of random nick-nacks, wooden tables, rough outback decor. This is a nice place for friends, family or a semi-quiet meal with a date. Breads are good, food is fresh and prepared as ordered. If you like that steak a little pink in the middle, make sure to TELL your waitress exactly what you want. Their 'rare' is very rare and even the medium is a little rare for some people. If you explain what you want, they will make it that way. My wife has severe allergies to mushrooms and somehow some mushroom got into her food (a dish that normally has mushrooms... but we ordered it without). Anyway, the staff went out of their way to make sure she was OK and we even got a call at home from the restaurant manager that night apologizing again and making sure she was fine. Great food, fair prices, great Aussie atmosphere and friendly, quick service with a smile... this is a winner of a restaurant. Highly recommended.
