Established in 1903, Harris County Medical Society is the professional organization for physicians in Harris County. Based in Houston, Texas, it is one of the largest county medical societies in the United States, with a membership of more than 10,000 physicians and medical students. The firm holds public health education campaigns for diseases, such as polio and Acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). Harris County Medical Society incorporated The Houston Academy of Medicine, a scientific and charitable [501 (c) (3)] organization of the physicians who compose the membership of the Harris County Medical Society.
