IF YOU WANT A MOVING COMPANY THAT WONT SHOW UP, THIS IS THE ONE FOR YOU! I really really hate to do this, but this company completely screwed over my fiancé and I. We moved to Houston from Boerne and hired movers from Carter moving for 6 hours starting at noon. We booked them a month in advance. They started by being late, no big deal, the mover contacted us and said they would have to be there at 4:30 at the latest... both the mover, as well as Gary, the owner, confirmed with me. Well, come 4:30, still no movers. I called Gary at least 5 times, as well as the guy who was supposed to be coming to move us. I never heard back from Gary or the mover. Still have had no responses. No calls back to reschedule for the next day. We were moving a four bedroom house. I would never recommend this company, and my 10 family members and friends who ended having to help us would agree.

the workers are thieves and do not take care of the valuables they are moving...they scratch up my front door , mess up a kitchen counter , scratch my fridge, and broke 2 picture frames and stole a precious samurai sword ...I took pictures of the damages and told owner which is gary carter about the situation and all he can do is call me back and never did...I called him again and he wont answer my calls. this moving company is a joke. the owner does not care . I am disappointed with him and his company...

This was our 2nd time using Carter: first time was to unload when we moved to Texas in 2014. The crew was fast and fabulous, taking great care of our items. We used Carter this time in Feb18 to load our truck to move from TX to FL. First, the crew arrived and immediately started to complain about the 2 hours they had to drive to get to us. They did this the ENTIRE time. Second, we had all boxes staged out of the way so that heavy furniture could be loaded first and boxes used to fill in gaps. They ignored me MULTIPLE times and took out all the boxes first. They did not load the truck properly, causing the load to not only be imbalanced, but they also did not load to the top of the truck. They loaded the truck so poorly we had to spend additional 5-6 hours unloading and RELOADING it. As we unloaded, we found they took my antique dresser and threw it on top of my chest freezer, severely damaging both. We had extra moving blankets they didn't bother to use at all, wrapped up the antique dresser ONLY in plastic wrap. But they were worried about protecting the MDF Walmart cube that was $15 had not one but TWO moving blankets on it. They told us the truck was full (because they intentionally loaded it to look full) and when I looked they loaded with giant gaps & hid it behind mattress. We were able to reload the back half of the 26' truck and gained over 5 full feet of room front to back. We had to rent a trailer to move the heavy furniture they didn't bother with as directed multiple times. The lost time from reloading, money from the trailer, the lost sleep before a 15 hour drive and causing to unexpectedly rent two hotel rooms were not even the worst things.The worst is that we filed a complaint with moving help and Gary was super responsive to us, admitting fault and agreeing to refund us. Well, a month later Gary stopped replying to us, no refund received. I now have to file in court & a case with my credit card to get this refunded since Gary won't keep his word.

Used them through UHaul and they caused $1100+ damage. Gary Carter agreed to pay $1100, $100/wk but after the first payment he stopped. When I contacted him, first excuse was death in family so delay payment couple of weeks. Now it is his wife is divorcing him and no money. I will be getting a lawyer to go to small claims court and he can pay the lawyer fee on top of the $1000 remaining amount. NEVER use this company

Within 10 minutes of the start of loading, an employee who Gary stated was leading the project proceeded to lay a piece of expensive furniture on its side onto a furniture mover without initially wrapping the piece. While pushing that same piece up a ramp, one of the doors opened and broke. I had to demand that all furniture was to be wrapped prior to moving it.

About 20 minutes later, I watched the same employee shove a very heavy piece of furniture about a foot across our original hardwood floors before I stopped him. The owner Gary witnessed the incident and jokingly stated to his employee that he was fired. Gary then proceeded to wipe water onto one of the new scratches and assured me that the scratches would go away. I had to tell him that one should never put water on hardwood. After that, Gary disappeared to his vehicle, and he sat in his car for the remainder of the project which was about an hour.

The owner Gary Carter ended up overcharging us for extensive and long hours of loading and unloading when it was supposed to be a 5-6 hour move. He ended up charging us over 17 hours of labor. Workers worked for 10 hours straight and Gary NEVER provided a meal for them AT ALL, I had to feed them that day. His men constantly ran out of supplies and had to go to Home Depot to "buy" more wrapping paper. That happened THREE times on the first day.. In the after math, They damaged three big pieces of wood furniture to where they are now fractured and punctured. We were also missing a floor mat.Ended up including the police and filed a report for unethical way of conducting business as he refused to compensate for damages. Upon us paying for services, he put in writing he would pay Texas legal min. insured amount to us, to compensate for damages. But he has not responded since. I have tried numerous ways to get a hold of him with no luck for 3 months now. Stay away from hiring this company.

Fraud, thieves, no good for nothing this company is very un professional and they are thieves! Beware people watch your things! THIS IS THE WORST *** I HAVE EVER SEEN. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CROOKS!!!! They are obviously liars and have no integrity. This company should be embarrassed for promising things you can't deliver. They need to be investigated!!!!

We made the mistake of hiring Carter Moving and Delivery to help us load our U-Haul just before Christmas. We were leaving Houston to attend to a death in our family and simply needed muscle. Our second mistake? Writing contents on the outside of our moving boxes! We packed prior to the three movers arriving, they loaded our truck, we locked it and moved the next morning. Problem 1: We were overcharged by two hours. The owner promised to refund the additional $200, but never bothered, despite my regular calls. Problem 2: We tool our time unpacking non-essentials, thinking that certain things LIKE JEWELRY and ELECTRONICS simply were still packed. Three weeks after our move, we finally discovered that our valuables had been taken to the MOVERS' truck instead of ours! The owner plays as though he is kind, but did nothing to make amends (not even the promised refund). He excuses his company by claiming that the movers he sent to help me no longer work for him! HPD say that this happens ALL OF THE TIME! people who are moving are tired and stressed and are easy marks for unscrupulous movers. MOVER BEWARE!

This company is not one I would recommend. Movers were 2 hours late, REALLY SLOW , my husband & I had to help them or we would've been loading all day. The 2 guys complained about their pay & their boss a couple times. And they took numerous smoke & snack breaks,then wanted to go to lunch after 2 1/2 hours... Said we HAD to pay cash then never gave us a receipt.. Charged us for blankets they never used. Found scratches on my couch after they left... UNIMPRESSED! TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. I'm giving 2 stars BC they were polite.

This company is TERRIBLE!!! They moved us into our home broke lots of things. They were suppose to pay us for the things they damaged and guess what the address is FAKE and haven't heard from them since!! MOVER BEWARE!!!! DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! I don't even want to give them one star it should be more like negative a million stars!!!!
