CACC Montessori School, located in Hockessin, Del., is a nonprofit school providing education to children above 18 months. The school is affiliated to the American Montessori Society and follows its guidelines for operating. The American Montessori Society is a national organization, which promotes Montessori education in the United States. The society publishes a quarterly magazine offering teacher and administrator training programs, school evaluations, teaching materials, and sets standards for its affiliated schools. CACC Montessori School staffs teachers certified in Montessori methodology. It offers various individual programs designed to encourage children to grow in self-confidence. Montessori principles recognize the diverse individual development of children in areas of physical, emotional, social and intellectual growth. In addition to offering quality education, the school also offers extended and half-day programs, before and after school care and a summer session.
