Home City Ice retails ice throughout Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and West Virginia, in addition to parts of Michigan, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, New York and Maryland. The company manufactures more than 3,700 tons of ice per day in nearly 25 manufacturing plants and more than 20 distribution centers throughout the Midwest. The Sedler family owns and operates Home City Ice. The company is one of the largest family owned ice companies in the United States. It is the supplier of shaved ice for mint juleps at the Kentucky Derby. A week before the derby, Home City Ice starts preparing for its ice runs to the racetrack in Louisville. Headquartered in Cincinnati, Home City Ice is a privately owned company. Home City Ice has a branch facility located in Highland Heights, Ky., where it employs nearly 60 people.
