Not good and they don't care really! The owner suggested this kind of wood that turned out to be crap.... And I paid 45$

I live 6.5 hours from Waco, Tx and I was coming to put in a yard from someone in Waco. I had contacted Barrera's the week prior to order 2 pallets of grass. I was told they would be there on Wednesday and I told them I would pick them up Friday. After renting a tillar, bringing my trailer, which dramatically increases gas usage, and hiring a laborer, I left for Waco. I called Barrera to let them know that I would be there late Friday afternoon to pick up the grass. I was informed that they did not have an order for me and they had no grass. I can understand that an order can get misplaced or that something happened where they could not get the grass in for that week. What I cannot accept is when they put a man on the phone, I believe it was Ezekiel, the person that I actually placed my order with and his explanation was that they did not have enough of an order to place so they did not get any grass in. I asked why I was not called to let me know the grass would not be there and he said that I should have called to find out and that there was nothing he could do. He did not apologize, he blamed me for not calling!! How am I supposed to know if they got the grass in?? Obviously, they should have called me to let me know the situation not the other way around. There was no effort, whatsoever, to correct the situation, to try to find me some grass or to help in any way. He told me that he got grass from the Houston area and that no one had grass around Waco. He just kept saying that there was nothing he could do, again without even apologizing. After searching, I found a grass grower only a short distance from Waco that actually said that they sold grass to Barrera's and even said that Barrera's could have come and picked up some grass from them to take care of me!! That was never offered....no willingness to help. I was going to arrive too late to pick up the grass from the grower so I am going back next week to pick it up from the grower and complete the yard project. I asked Ezekiel to speak with the owner and he asked why?? Are you kidding me?? He would not tell me the owners name, he would not let me talk to him and I wanted to leave my number and have the owner call me, again, he refused to let me have contact with the owner. I drove 6.5 hours, pulling a trailer, rented a tillar and had someone waiting to work, all for nothing, thanks to Ezekiel and Barrera's. Again, I understand that things happen and that mistakes are made but I will not ever understand how a business can blame a customer for not confirming an order that THEY are responsible for, then take no responsibility for anything and not even offer an apology. Lastly, they had no interest at all with trying to solve my problem and their mistake. Their attitude was "too bad, nothing we can do". I will never go to Barrera's for anything and I hope that you read this review and find someone else to do business with. If I were the owner of Barrera's, I would consider letting your employees know that this kind of poor service is not acceptable....oh, I forgot, I can't tell the owner this because according to his employees, he does not have time to talk to his customers!

Barrera came out gave me an estimate and said they would be in touch that was over a week ago. I went there yesterday and talked to the same guy who came out to my place and he was like surprised that no one contacted me, so he tells me the person that needs to put paperwork together and give me a quote will contact me yesterday afternoon or this morning...little confused because I thought he already gave me a quote when he was out here. So I called them just a few minutes ago to be told that the guy that was supposed to contact me is and has been out of town and will not be back till next week. Why lie to me when I was in there yesterday...Poor business practice.

Very friendly and knowledgable employees always eager to help if you want it. Beautiful, quality plants at excellent prices. Always a good experience. So glad I found them!!!
