Be careful of what you buy from BIG LOTs in Henderson NC!



Big Lots in Henderson NC just recently opened of which my husband purchased MP3 players for each of us. His worked however the adapter cord was flawed and would not play clearly, the one he purchased for me did not work from day one. Well, it took several days (maybe 3) to get around to setting it up and although it said that the setup was complete everytime I tried to upload music to it, it would say they were installed however when I went to play them it said that the memory was empty. I tried this several times and it still did not work, I even had two other people try and still it did not work. So finally, I took the MP3 player back up to Big lots and explained that it did not work and asked to exchange it with another. They refused saying that they just started a new policy that if you did not have your reciept that they would not refund or exchange. The no refund part I understand but the exchange part I dont. What happened was that I got a little miffed and said to the clerk, "so, you mean to tell me that I purchsed something from you, It does not work, and even though I come back up here with the original packaging a few days after it is purchased that you will not allow me to exchange it for something that does work?" again I was told that I could not get an exchange. So was said to them, "so, your telling me that you will knowingly sell crap in your stores that do not work, take peoples money and when it does not work say SUCKS TO BE YOU?". I left the MP3 player at the counter (on purpose) and said "fine, now I know where NOT to shop for electronics".



Question? Why was Big Lots so quick to change the policy of now exchanges without a reciept..... could it be that there were alot of people returning faulty electronic merchandise that was purchased from this store..... Yeah, I think so.
