Dr. Vista-Deck graduated from the University of Michigan and Wayne State University School of Medicine. After residency, she joined the Obstetrics and Gynecology faculty where she spent many years teaching residents and increasing her patient base. Beginning with preconception counseling, throughout your pregnancy, labor and delivery, and taking you through postpartum, our OBGYNs and obstetric nurses are by your side.

Ultrasound
Rather than offer a doppler ultrasound that leaves you guessing what part of your baby you are viewing, a 3D obstetric ultrasound appears almost as clear as a photograph! By taking several images in a series, a computer can render a 3D image within minutes. This is not only gratifying for the parents, but it is also a diagnostic tool. Spina bifida, cleft lip or palate, heart abnormalities, and other defects can be visualized early on so that doctors are ready to treat the baby after birth. Some doctors have put forth the theory that maternal bonding with the fetus is psychologically stronger with the enhanced visualization of the baby.

Minimally Invasive Surgery

Vasectomy
Permanent contraceptives are for individuals who do not want to have children at all. These include tubal ligation and vasectomy (for men).
Robotic Surgery
The da Vinci Robotic Surgery System is used for minimally invasive surgeries of the heart, colorectal system, head and neck surgeries, thoracic surgeries, urologic procedures, and gynecologic surgeries.
Hysterectomy
Endosee technology combines a camera and monitor for recording the three-minute, in-office hysterectomy. Usually, no anesthesia is necessary and the appointment is only about 30 minutes.
Laparoscopy
Dr. Kmak’s areas of specialty are minimally invasive and robotic surgeries. He is an accredited provider at the Center of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery based at Harper/Hutzel Hospital. A surgeon must have demonstrated their skills in surgery, as well as low complication rates to be credentialed for this designation through the AAGL (American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy).
