Professionalism

I have no problem with this vet clinic. He did surgery on my cat with a torn tendon in his leg (the cat) and a bone fragment that needed removing. Cat is doing fine. He gave several options up to and including surgery, so I could choose which was best for my pocketbook. No padding of bill. My cat gets good care.

Dental Surgery
Dr Maik was born & raised in the Springfield, MO area. She spent 8 years at the University of Missouri- Columbia where she earned a BA in Microbiology and her DVM degree. She spent a couple years practicing in her home state of Missouri before deciding to leave the cold and snow behind for the sunny state of Florida. Having spent a few years practicing in nearby Lehigh Acres, FL Dr Maik has now joined EAC in April 2017. Her primary interests in practice are preventive care and wellness, dental procedures and oral surgery, and internal medicine. Dr Maik has 2 pets - a feisty orange tabby named Neo, and a sweet, energetic Australian Shepherd named Miles. In her free time, Dr Maik enjoys movies, cycling, yoga, geocaching, spending time with friends & family, and playing trumpet in the church orchestra.

SURGICAL SERVICES: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures. We offer Laser Surgery that also speeds recovery & decrease damage to the tissue. It also reduces bleeding. See Frequently Asked Questions to the left.

Spaying and Neutering
Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately 6 months of age. Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help determine whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure. Current vaccinations are required at the time of surgery. Also a pre-anesthetic blood screen is recommended prior to undergoing anesthesia and surgery.

Laboratory Services
We offer different levels of in-house blood testing before surgery, which we will go over with you when you bring your pet in. Our doctors prefer the more comprehensive screen, because it gives them the most information to ensure the safety of your pet. For geriatric or ill pets, additional blood tests, electrocardiograms, or x-rays may be required before surgery as well.

Boarding
We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Please have all vaccines, heartworm tests & fecals up to date. Bring paperwork prior to dropping off with us, if we did not do the vaccines, so we can verify the updates. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday.

Elizabeth, aka Ely, was born in Miami but raised in Naples! Ely started at EAC in December 2021 after she graduated as CVA (Certified Veterinary Assistant) at Lorenzo Walker Technical Institute in 2019. She lives with her family, 3 Yorkies & a Puppy Husky! Ely loves spending time working on her car with her boyfriend, playing & working with her Husky puppy training, riding & working on her motorcycle and video gaming!
